Jeannette... thankyou so much for putting up this thread. I thought all you lovely people had left the site... haven't seen many of you for such a long time. I agree with you all and would only add that I think GR should stop name changes. I know this is a contentious issue but I am getting on in years and my mind is not as nimble as it used to be and I don't know who a lot of people are anymore. Alternatively, as Elaine, Paul and others do, always keep your name in your title. Jean x.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~waves to everyone~~~~~~~~~~~ I so agree with with you all about the threads. I am an oldie but haven't posted a lot but I did post a thread the other day ''Choices'' and didn't get one reply,Hence the new name. We all have the choice of either ignoring the threads which are contentious but they can become very personal which I do not like. So lets get the board back to what it used to be Re- debates/jokes and fun threads. Sue
Hi Bryan, Pleased you are feeling better. I do normally sign my proper name at the bottom but must be honest I've taken to just signing C. This is cos I'm rubbish at typing and it takes me so long to type something I thought I'd take a short cut. lol But you are right we should sign ours names it would be less confusing. Christine xx ( who has taken 3 mins to type this) I'm improving!!! lol
I can see you Sue! lol Christine......I blame our parents. They should have given us names of no more than 4 letters! Ooooops just realised my eldest is Roseanna.......but we do shorten it to Rosie! Glenys.....I think I missed most of it. This was just a thread to voice how I have been feeling over the last couple of weeks. And I can see I wasn't alone!
Jeanette, first time today I have had chance to sit and read all through your thread. So pleased you put it up. I fully agree with all that has been said. I personally think one of the reasons the General Topics board is going down the pan, is because a few months ago a lot of new members joined and there was hassle, thus causing a lot of us 'oldies' not bothering as much as usual. Even more new members came along and most followed the apparent flow of the board got the wrong impression of what the norm on the board was and hey presto, before we knew it the board is full of members that seem to think it is just like the 'Chat Board or Room' I have always felt that the Gen Topics Board was totally different to the 'Chat Board' I do not refer to 'Us Oldies' as elderly in age, but as folks that have been members for quite a while. We have a lot of lovely members in their teens, 20's & 30's. They help keep us older generation feeling young and cheerful ( Well they do me ) It is just a few new members that need to see that this Board is for all ages etc. and must respect every single members feelings and views. So I vote all us 'Oldies' should come back in full swing and show a few of the new members what this board is all about. Then if they dont like our way, they can push off. Sorry for getting on my soap box. Jenny x Third year member.
