1. Good Christian men, rejoice With heart and soul and voice, Give ye heed to what we say: News! News! Jesus Christ was Born today! Ox and ass before Him bow, And He is in the manger now; Christ is born today! Christ is born today. 2. Good Christian men, rejoice With heart and soul and voice; Now ye hear of endless bliss; Joy! Joy! Jesus Christ was born for this! He hath ope'd the heav'nly door And man is blessed evermore. Christ was born for this! Christ was born for this! 3. Good Christian men, rejoice With heart and soul and voice; Now ye need not fear the grave; Peace! Peace! Jesus Christ was born to save! Calls you one and calls you all To gain his everlasting hall. Christ was born to save! Christ was born to save! |

Three kings from Persian lands afar To Jordan follow the pointing star: And this the quest of the travellers three, Where the new-born King of the Jews may be. Full royal gifts they bear for the King; Gold, incense, myrrh are their offering. The star shines out with a steadfast ray; The kings to Bethlehem make their way, And there in worship they bend the knee, As Mary’s child in her lap they see; Their royal gifts they show to the King; Gold, incense, myrrh are their offering. Thou child of man, lo, to Bethlehem The kings are travelling, travel with them! The star of mercy, the star of grace, Shall lead thy heart to its resting-place. Gold, incense, myrrh thou canst not bring; Offer thy heart to the infant King. |

As with gladness, men of old Did the guiding star behold As with joy they hailed its light Leading onward, beaming bright So, most glorious Lord, may we Evermore be led to Thee. As with joyful steps they sped To that lowly manger bed There to bend the knee before Him Whom Heaven and earth adore; So may we with willing feet Ever seek Thy mercy seat. As they offered gifts most rare At that manger rude and bare; So may we with holy joy, Pure and free from sin’s alloy, All our costliest treasures bring, Christ, to Thee, our heavenly King. Holy Jesus, every day Keep us in the narrow way; And, when earthly things are past, Bring our ransomed souls at last Where they need no star to guide, Where no clouds Thy glory hide. In the heavenly country bright, Need they no created light; Thou its Light, its Joy, its Crown, Thou its Sun which goes not down; There forever may we sing Alleluias to our King! |

I shall not be able to keep the singing going until Epiphany... however:- We three kings of Orient are Bearing gifts we traverse afar. Field and fountain, moor and mountain, Following yonder star. Chorus O star of wonder, star of night, Star with royal beauty bright, Westward leading, still proceeding, Guide us to thy perfect Light. Born a king on Bethlehem's plain, Gold I bring to crown Him again, King forever, ceasing never Over us all to reign. Chorus Frankincense to offer have I. Incense owns a Deity nigh. Prayer and praising all men raising, Worship Him, God on high. Chorus Myrrh is mine: Its bitter perfume Breaths a life of gathering gloom. Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding dying, Sealed in the stone-cold tomb. Chorus Glorious now behold Him arise, King and God and Sacrifice. Alleluia, alleluia! Sounds through the earth and skies. Chorus |

Hello folks, It's 12th Night tonight, so we come to the end of the Christmas season. Epiphany tomorrow, so I hope you've all got up to date MoT certificates for your camels! Star gazing could be on but, with all this global warming, I'm afraid the local cloudbase is getting in the way! Anyway, thank you for all your contributions. I hope you've enjoyed our singalong, and I look forward to joining you again next Christmas! I'll leave this thread for the next couple of days, then I'll remove it. Best wishes, Philip |
