That's the thing with reflux, they are not ill - ill, she is a happy little soul in between bouts. She may be in hospital for up to a month, have told my sister to start shouting for a reflux specialist, as the paediatricians are not coming up with answers. I'VE given her more answers today than she has had from them. Anyway, like my recipe? It is yummy! Great with low fat yoghurt.

Sounds more effort than it is, it takes about 2 minutes to weigh and mix it all, then you can have a cuppa while its cooking, and get on with something else (chatting on here) while its cooling.

I'm having some homemade soup for dinner today. I like the fact that it's homemade cos you can control what goes into it. Today I am having tomato and basil soup. I reckon you could eat as much of this as you like cos I don't see what could be fatty in it! TOMATO AND BASIL SOUP 1 lb fresh tomatoes 2 large carrots, chopped 1 leek, chopped 1 large onion, chopped 2 cloves garlic, chopped 2 bay leaves 1 small tin tomato puree 1 pint chicken stock 5 tblsps fresh basil, chopped Whack it all in a pan and bring to the boil. Turn down and simmer for 20-25 minutes. Remove basil leaves and skins from tomatoes that will have come off. Stick it in a blender and whizz it up. Return to heat to warm up. Serve with chopped basil garnish

Here's another soup recipe that I made the other day. It was a nice change after all that Christmas food. I had it with some nice crusty bread, but I will be eating it with pitta's from now on.....only 1.9g of fat per pitta if they're white and 1.6g if they're wholemeal I think! LEEK AND POTATO SOUP 2 leeks, chopped 1 large onion, chopped 3-4 medium ptoatoes, chopped 1 pint chicken stock Salt and pepper to taste Stick it all in a pan and bring to the boil. Turn down and simmer until the potatoes are soft. Whizz it all up in the blender. Return to pan to heat through

Have you got the slimmer's chips recipe? It's a bit of a long process compared with bought oven chips but they actually taste quite delicious! SLIMMER'S CHIPS (Serves 4) Preheat oven to gas 9. Peel 2lb potatoes. Slice lengthwise into approximately half inch thick rectangular chips. Bring large pan of salted water to the boil. Add chips and cook for 4 minutes. Drain and leave for 10 minutes to dry. Return chips to dry pan, cover with lid and shake to rough up edges. Spray baking tray with Fry Light. Place chips on tray and spray lightly with Fry Light, and bake in oven for 20-25 minutes turning occasionally. Drain on absorbant paper

Paul Report 2 Jan 2007 15:39

How can you not like chips ? before Christmas Sharon and I both agreed we'd make a proper effort starting now to lose weight. Unfortunately we still have some christmas goodies left, but we're getting rid of them as quickly as possible ! I put 4lb on over christmas... I'm now a tad over 14stone and I reckon I need to lose 2, maybe 2.5 stone. I'm not saying what Sharon wants to lose ! lol Will be watching this thread with interest :)
