badger Report 11 Feb 2009 10:36

'Ere,Brenda, where'se all these pennies comingfrom for this monitor then ?,have you denuded the piggy bank,or have you robbed the bank of england[not that you would get much from them lol].
I changed to an lcd monitor early last year ,much easier to move when you are dusting.
What a difference in the weather this morning, opened the curtainsand blinds to se the snow on the patio melting, and this was at seven clock, yippee,is this a sign of spring at last?.
Fred is getting quite spoiled with this new lappy and chair combo, and is sitting here like lord muck whilethe missus struggles with the other set up.
What i hear you ask,can she borrow my new one?HA,not on your nelly ma,this ismine ,all mine he he.
All i have to do is get used to the space bar being so low,but that should come with practice[i hope].
Hope everyone is fineand looking forward to the weekend.Fred

Dorothy Report 11 Feb 2009 14:24

goodmorning fred I am glad to hear that your snow is melting loved the e-mail re the snow in orillia, orillia is only a nice 20 minute drive from where I live and lindys family have a cottage about 20 minutes outside of orillia on the lake, they do tend to get more snow than us but we have given them a run for their money this year, to-day it is above normal 10 degree's and rainy but it is washing some of the snow away, it is about this time every year when I think about spring in england it is such a great time all your bulbs etc come up so much earlier than ours I always get homesick as well but do to budget restraints I am sure I will not be home this year unless I win the lottery, good luck at the dentist brenda not my favourite place I am looking after the children this evening as andrew is out of town for the 5th week in a row he is not too pleased about it, laura has to have a final x-ray on her broken finger hopefully it is healed, ian has guitar lessons and lindy has a 2hr seminar after school so she needed a bit of help bye for now dorothy

Hi all,
Well just got back from a mid-week break at Center Parcs. The break was nice but the weather could have been kinder.
We left here on Monday in rain, and the following day Tuesday we visited Johan's sister who had a stroke a few years ago and doesn't get out of the house very much. She was pleased to see us. On the way home from her we ran into bad weather, lots of snow so that we couldn't read the direction boards - they were all white! Of course being country roads there was no lighting and not many people around either.
The next day was Wednesday and we visited my daughter and we went out to a local shopping centre with her and in the evening encountered a snow storm on our way back to Center Parcs. The same story as the night before - we couldn't read the direction boards.
Yesterday being our last day we decided to stay at Center Parcs and look around there and take it easy.
We left this morning with the weather much the same, snow, sleat and some rain. Only when we were almost home did we see better weather - even sun in Almere where we live!
After putting the washing machine on and Johan making a cup of tea we read the post and I looked at the pc - 80 e-mails!
Now I am looking forward to a quiet weekend at home. No, I am not going out at all.
Have a nice weekend everybody.

John Report 14 Feb 2009 06:52

Hi everyone
We have crazy weather - some days hot and humid [Auckland reported 32degrees cellius the other day]. We had heavy rain on Thursday and it was still hot and humid. Just a pity the rains aren't falling in Victoria, Australia as it would certainly go someway in quenching the fires.
I've been a good programme from ITV, 'Wild at Heart' set in Africa, the broadcaster here has screened the three series with a brief break for the Rugby Sevens when one of the characters died in a fire. It then continued with the fire's aftermath and series four which has just been made is starting. Have you seen it?
Take care, John

Brenda

Brenda Report 15 Feb 2009 00:01

Hi John, have been reading and watching the fires in Victoria,I have a friend living on the Mornington Peninsula, could not get in touch via email, turns out that their pc was broken an they had towait for the new on!!
They have not been directly affected but the nearest one to them was about 60k .!! they have had to be very watchful of course.
Did not see all the older screenings of Wilde at Heart it used to clash with something else, but have seen a lot of the new series ,and have enjoyed them, the girl who plays the vets daughter was in Coronation street for a while.Been really cold here today and a very grey sky ,thought we might get snow again,!!
Bought some sun cream in a sale today ,ready for our holiday in three weeks. Not getting much else as I still have stuf from December only worn then, just hope it still fits as the diet is not goingwell at all.
Take care Brenda

Hi Drothy, very wet here today but at least no snow.Thought i had said about theholiday ,we wanted to go the week of my birthday but I could not have that week off work and then the cost was a lot more as well/ We will b going to tenerife its really the only place John like.
Went to Bury yesterday had a good walk round the market but there seemed to be a real lot o "family" groups so you could not get to look at much really.Only stayed a couple of hours
The ceiling bulb in this room has blown so i am typing in the dark, will be back when its changed.

Hi all,
Can you now see what I have typed Brenda? I do hope you have a good holiday. Never mind the diet. the less you think about it, the easier it is. Just eat a little less. Johan and I eat very little now and in fact in Center Parcs ordered childrens meals for us as it is a pity to waste a meal.
the weather has been wet today but not as cold as of late.
I have muscle pain in places where I'd forgotten I had muscles. I shouldn't laugh as it is so painful. Johan sprayed my shoulders with an analgaesic spray today, but if it doesn't get better then I'll go to the doctors for a cortisone injection.
I've been in the kitchen all day preparing various meals for the freezer and was so tired that when I looked at the pc I fell asleep. I woke up with Johan banging on the door because I hadn't started our dinner for today. I have also finished all my washing and ironing which is a nice feeling.
Now see you all tomorrow.

Hello everyone, trying to type with only my left hand - had a fall so cannot use my right hand. Tripped on a paving stone, now have a very badly bruised right hand luckily no serious damage but did hit my chin so that looks a bit gruesome. Hurt my right knee, that;s my bad knee and really thought I had done some damage but that is only bruised and grazed. I do ache a bit but can now move my fingers just can't put any pressure on them. Hand and arm all funny colours and very swollen.
Hope you and Johan are feeling better for your break away Sylvia. Enjoy your holiday Brenda, hope the weather is good in Tenerife.
Hope everyone else is keeping well. Sorry thus is taking ages so will say goodnight . Catch up again soon when I can use both hands and don't have to look at the keyboard.

badger Report 17 Feb 2009 09:57

Morning all ,huh ,the previous addition was NOT deleted by admin' at all ,it was me ,it's gr working it's ticket this morning lol,how very dare it.
As i said before Kathleen before i recieved a swipe round the lug from g r,You seem to have picked a nasty paving slab to argue with [ouch],but i wouldn't worry too much about having to look at the keyboard while you are typing at the minute lol,i still do it while typing with TWO hands he he .
Hiya Brenda ,i was thinking of you this morning while trying our new brand of tea[yorkshire blend] wow ,i am impressed ,a nice medium strong taaste ,and a good aroma,i think the old pg tips and monkeys have paled for me ,lool.
Are there anymore delights to go with the tea ,pies ,and other local produce that you can put me onto?
Sorry rto hear of Blachpools misfortune with the fire bug late last week, did the git cause a lot of damage? i assume because there were 15 engines at the fire ,it must have been pretty severe.
I hope they deal with this idiot in a like manner.
The spring now looks to me to be just around the corner ladies, balmt days returning with the smell of new mown lawns ,the scent of the flowers and roses,oh,and of course ,the B B Qs he he,can't be bad can it?
I thuink Liz is wanting to air the buss passes to make sure the moths have been evicted lol.so ,i will sign off for now.
Have a good day all ,and Brenda ,you take it easy lass, there must be others working with you who can help take some of the load off you,and if there isn't ,there should be .Catch you later all Fred.
