Is there anyway of working out who lived at 11 Goding Street Lambeth 1914/1915

Hoping it’s going to be Edward and Lydia Wallis.

Yes that’s them on the 1911 census

I ordered a death certificate for Elizabeth Wallis who died in 1914. She was aged 15. Shows Edward Wallis as the father. No idea how I establish if it’s the right Elizabeth

Electoral Rolls?

By the 1921 census they were living at 27 Dorset Road, Lambeth

1915 is between census so no way of double checking

As it’s says she is the daughter of the right father then it’s most probably the right family

People often moved rented homes constantly

Plus if there’s no more records for the girl then that points to her having passed

Nothing at all comes up on the 1911 census, nor on Google as a whole, for Godring Street.

In 1913,1914, and 1915 Electoral Registers, Edward Wallis is at 11 Goding Street:

In 1935 Lydia's not listed with him, but Emily and John are.
1929 - 1934 - Lydia's there, with Edward, Emily, and John
1927 - only Edward and Lydia.

On both the death cert and the deceased online it did look like Godring but now I can see it said Goding

I am going to order Lilian’s death certificate who died the previous year to see what that says.

Have a look at Edward’s WW1 attestation papers they sometimes list marriage and children births dates.

Don't know where the Lant Street address comes from - it doesn't seem to be anywhere on the page image.

She was previously at Vauxhall Street School.
Her last attendance at Charles Dickens School was 20/12/1920, when she was 14 and left school.


There's no image to view (on Ancestry) for the school record for John, posted earlier by Shirley, but presumably it would show the address as 11 Goding Street, not that mysterious Lant Street address.

There are 7 trees on Ancestry none have a death date for Elizabeth.

The Lant Street address mentioned is round the corner from Mint Street and the Poor Law Union would be the workhouse which is actually in Mint Street but Lant Street is round the corner. Charles Dickens lived in Lant Street for a while.

My grandad was born in Mint Street Workhouse and his family lived in Lant Street at the time.
