I'm afraid my friend's problem is due to NHS and parents. He had problems as a child and the specialist told his mother they had to operate in the next few weeks or he'd lose his sight in that eye. He got accidently put on the non urgent list. His mother didn't contact the hospital to see why he hadn't got his op appt. Almost 2 years later he got the appt. too late to save the sight in the eye.The specialist apologised but asked why mother didn't contact him and she just shrugged her shoulders.

His wife told me his mother was always quiet and felt out of her depth with educated people. :-0
