When Jeremy becomes PM on Friday he is going to need support from all the Labour MPs and will need to allocate the job of Home Secretary to someone who is acceptable to them. That is unlikely to be Diane Abbott.

See the questions has to be though when it's obvious no one in the western world thinks she should be Home Secretary why let her run all this time under the mantle of shadow Home Secretary? She's been that for how long now??

Because in opposition none of the competent Labour MPs wanted Jeremy as leader so didn't want to be in the Shadow Cabinet. If he is in power then their reluctance will disappear.
