Ann - when my Joseph got married the second time, I think he was trying to make himself sound a bit posher than he was, and younger, cos he married a much younger woman from a class above him! :-D ;-)

**Ann** Report 10 Feb 2015 20:28

Probably Gin....my grandad told porkies on all three of his marriages.

When he was 35 he married my nan who was 16 :-0 :-0

Gin when you get time send it to my ipad...for a looksee please. If he is being truthful it narrows it down to look for a death for his father.

GinN Report 10 Feb 2015 20:35

Ann - I'll get my hubby to scan it in tomorrow - he's out at the moment - then I'll send it to you.

He really is proving to be very frustrating :-|

(Joseph that is, not my hubby! :-D ;-) )

What was his occupation 1st marriage.

Where you gone Mersey :-0

GinN

GinN Report 10 Feb 2015 20:50

Ann - my Joseph's occupation was given as pitman. Must have become a congregational minister sometime before his second marriage. I think that must have been a sideline though, cos in the census of 1891 and 1901 he gives his occupation as coal miner. :-)

**Ann**

**Ann** Report 10 Feb 2015 20:53

Lol ....a sideline!

Sounds like he was a non conformist Gin....loads were here in Wales in those times.
