Ann...thank you, so many of us wish we could be with you tomorrow.
Shaun is copying this thread and will make it into a booklet with a photo on the front of Sandies favourite flowers...which l'm sure he said were fuchsia.
He may already have finished it, bless him.

Remembering our Lovely Sandie.

Although unheard we thank you * $parkling $andie*
For always being there
Even when you were not well
You always cared for other's.

You meant so much to all of us
you were special and that's no lie
you brightened up the darkest day
and even the grey-est sky

Many tears we have seen and cried
They have all poured out like rain
Now we know that you are no longer in pain.

We will Al-ways remember you
And what you used to say
You made each of us smile
And live to the fullest each day

We were not ready to say goodbye
Your disease just over took
So on this day we remember you
And wish you perfect peace

Our friendship is forever
Until death, did we part
Although your away physically
You will always be in our heart's.

Rest in peace Sandie.

Shaun, I Love the verse to Sandie.

AnninC, I know you are going to the funeral for Sandie because you want to but I just want to say. Thanks for going to represent us all.

Will be on here tomorrow at 11.00 thinking of Sandie's family and friends all saying their goodbyes. She was way to young to die. Still can't get my head around it.

I've worked the route out and shall leave in plenty of time and I'll come back and report on how it all went - expecting there to be quite a crowd - hopefully I'll get to speak to Sandie's husband and explain who I am and that I am representing all of us

Thinking of Sandie and her family and friends.
Remember .
You can shed tears that Sandie has gone
or you can smile because she has lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that she’ll come back
or you can open your eyes and see all she’s left.

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her
or you can be full of the friendship you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember Sandie and only that she’s gone
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
or you can do what she’d want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Rest In Peace Sandie. <3

well I found Brynmawr quite easily - very well signposted, then to find the chapel, not too difficult as people around the streets were very helpful

lovely little traditional Welsh chapel, full congregation - extremely lovely service with lady minister

Hymns - "Safe in the arms of Jesus" and "The old rugged cross"

various pieces of modern music played before the arrival of the coffin and Malcolm and children and the coffin and congregation left to "You raise me up"

Genes Reunited was mentioned quite a few times during the service, by the minister first, and then by Sandie's sister June, who spoke at length about Sandie, her achievements and her life growing up - lovely stories

GR also mentioned on the order of service in a thank you from the family and a few postings from this thread were read out

I spoke to Malcolm as I exited the chapel and told him who I was and that I was representing GR - I also left a card from GR. I left a card for you too Allan

Shaun will be pleased to know that he was mentioned during the service and the poem that he sent the family was read out. I shall sent you a copy of the order of service Shaun and I do have a few spare if anyone else wants one

All in all it was a lovely send off - I did not go to the interment or the refreshments after
