Unbelieveable? What exactly?

That I don't judge people who can walk for parking in a blue badge space?

No, I don't because for all I know they could have an invisible disability that entitles them to park in one of those spaces.

BK. Have added by copying and pasting your lists of disabilities. Intend to now do that in every post I send with my opinion about something. Just so as I do not upset anybody - you in particular. Suggest other posters do the same if they want threads to flow and not be targetted at one particular poster and his or her good or bad opinions. You must be very flattered.


John can't say i'm flattered at that & to say you mean me in particular & suggest other posters do the same is a form of harrasment, abuse or stalking. See the T & C's

Paula, sorry you felt upset by the word cripple but that is how some of us cope with our disabilities by laughing at ourselves and that word is perfect,

I have a cripmobile, belong to a group ......don't park in my disabled space you lazy b*****d where astonishing photos are published of abuse of disabled bays. As someone with a motor skills disability the word fits! The word disabled covers a multitude of ailments and I don't want to be just one sufferer of that catch all description.

As a blue badge holder, like others on GR, we are in the unenviable position of being disadvantaged by inconsiderate sods parking in our bays. When it's really busy we have been known to drive into a supermarket, fail to find a space, even a normal bay where I could sit in the car, and drive home again.

Of course there are some overweight people who abuse the system, exactly the same applies to skinny people. If onlookers feel aggrieved go and challenge them. No blue badge they should not use a disabled bay..full stop.

That's why I mentioned cash point cripples, I do tell them exactly what I think of their selfishness. Some long term GRers will recall a member of GR who insisted on parking her new car in a disabled bay so there was less chance of it being scratched, strangely they got no understanding on here at all, I wonder why!

Sue thank you so much for your understanding. I really do admire you, and feel sure that you and my Mother would have had a lot in common. She had a great sense of humour inspite of her difficulties.She always said there was so many people worse off.

Paula, no problem :-D the way we use the word is a term of endearment not a derogatory insult. A few GR friends call me an old crip..lol...I rather like it. You can be assured that none of them would refer to any other disabled person in the same way. They understand that it's my sense of humour and coping mechanism exactly the same as Eeyore :-D

It's like when at a social event, my RADAR key is on a chain. When I need the loo I'll dig it out of handbag, swing it around in the air and shout out "any volunteers?" :-D :-D :-D

Yes I can see how if some people are strong enough to cope with it and when said in a certain way it will not cause offence, I think it is all about intent. You certainly seem to have a good time at your club, do you get many take up your offer?

Hayley averts her eyes if it's at a meet, or just says push off...lolol it's partly mischievous on my part, shout out "loo" and most of the ladies suddenly have a very urgent need to go. ROFLMAO :-D :-D

I just fight them off with my stunning crutch ;-) and get to the front of the queue :-P :-P

My late Mother would've been furious with me & my "flippant" attitude towards my health. That said it is a coping strategy & without my original Crip Group (fellow sufferers of the same illness) I don't think I would or could have coped initially.

Over the years I have been lucky to find fellow Crips who do the same...like Sue & weird as it may sound it provides a lot of comfort & support.

I know it makes some people uncomfortable & it is never my intent to upset anyone so I am sorry Paula+ ...but it's how I keep me-me.

If it's Parking there's no excuse for misuse. At one T*sco unable to park in a Disabled bay, there were 14 cars without badges I spoke to Customer Services who gave out the car reg's over the tannoy...exit a lot of very embarressed people!

Eeyore, I have to be very honest with you, I have never heard of a Crip Group. All I can say, is good luck to you, whatever helps you cope can is your own business, and can't be bad as far as I am concerned.

It was actually a "Fatigue Group" but we renamed it & that was in 2006...we still meet up for a BBQ once a year (we used to meet for a meal every month or so but it was too expensive & we're spread over a large area) & it's like we've never been apart, that & 'phoning & FB. :-D

Sue :-D If I am talking about GR and it is something you have said (and he knows there are several Sues/susans) I say Sue with crutches, he usually says something like 'Oh Sue the crutch'. Still remembering your very flamboyant crutches that you had in Swansea.

You should see the black one with sequins and shiny leaves :-D If you need a crutch why not make it into one that makes people laugh.

It is just the constant drip drip of criticism that is really getting to me. Others enjoy having a go (fair enough). But not all the time. It is boring - and extremely irritating.

Sue. I just expect a bit of fair play. If I see something and give an opinion about it, I think that should be innocuous. I don't then expect someone to forensically pull my post to bits, try to make me look a complete buffoon for even expressing an opinion, and then have the friends of the main teaser piling in if I try to defend myself. I can handle one person but not six "same as ******" posters.

It has happened ever since I started chat. AnnC says I am not fit for purpose on chat and probably that is right.

So I will get reported away into the ether shortly and I very much doubt I will miss it.
