Hayley, it takes a lot of time (pun intended) and dedication to teach cuckoos to tell the time, which is why they are so important for the swiss economy: not to mention the money expended in fittting them all with miniature wrist watches, or in this case ankle watches, so that they know when to make the correct appearance. |

You have to catch them when they are really young Hayley and then nest them in front of a clock so that they can get used to the 'tic-toc' rhythm.....which begs the question "which came first, the cuckoo or the clock?" :-D |

Very young Hayley, in fact if you can get them when the mother cuckoo has kicked the other bird out of its nest so much the better. there is some scientific eveidence to show that once their eyes open, they can recognise digital figures. |
