my children love the fact that they are fluent welsh speakers and their mum is a scouser(i speak welsh as well(but not very well). dad who is welsh,is more bothered that they get a good education,(they have had good schooling) but welsh people believe that welsh is dying because of incomers to wales,im a incomerbut ive taught my children welsh,and my welsh speaking husband didnt,so really can you blame english speaking incomers for the language dying??? think its up to the welsh speakers to keep the welshj language going and not to blame english people for the death of the lauguage,when its really the job of the welsh parent to teach and not to blame. :-D

hubby just got in,hes in a terrible mood,his beloved wales lost,never mind,we all lose sometimes :-D

Never regretted putting a bit of effort into Welsh. Even if only for the fact it sounds more poetic and Welsh poetry and songs sound so fantastic. Your children (wherever they work and live) will become more and more grateful that they know Welsh and have learned something of the culture. And Liverpool roots will keep them grounded and with an excellent sense of humour

Watched the rugby match today on S4C in Welsh instead of BBC2 English commentary. Jonathan whining away on BBC2. On S4C you felt almost a part of the game. Even though we lost pretty heavily, the commentators were so enthusiastic from start to finish. :-D

dont do the big welsh language thing John,think welsh parents should teach their children the old language if they wont the welsh to continue in our future lives,,my husband is welsh speaking,he wasnt bothered about our children speaking welsh,he was more bothered about them having a good education,they are all going to leave anglesey at one time because wr have no work here,i sent my children to welsh schools ,they all speak welsh,it wasnt up to my welsh speaking husband,it was because his scouse wife thought it was the best thing for our children :-D

And you are lucky enough to see them and meet them, so that makes you A list in my book.

My wife's nain (Elizabeth Owen 1879-1967) was brought up on Caenewydd farm, Pencaenewydd. In the "big house" next door, Clough Williams Ellis was born and brought up. And she knew so many famous people through Eifionydd roots - a lifelong friend was Sir Ifan ab Owen Edwards, who established the Welsh League of Youth ("Urdd") :-D :-D

think you are quite fun John, when you not pissing people off( anyone who wants to RR me feel free) we are quite used to famous people around here,its not a big deal,
george north the welsh rugby player is my daughters friend,they went to school together,he attended her wedding night in aug.x no big deal ;-)

Stan shops in Morrisons in Llanishen - there is no Morrisons in Rhiwbina - just a Co-op

Well, I see Stan Stennett in Morrisons near Rhiwbeina. He is an Ace, and I think that trumps your potentiial King and Queen.:-D

Wonder if anyone else on this thread rubs shoulders with the famous whilst they shop in Tesco or Morrisons :-S :-S

no Allan of course they didnt want me for dinner,more meat on a baby kaola than me at the moment, :-)

they invited me to join them,need a very common person to balance the guests out,

but they were very sad that i refused,a letter from the palace begging me to attend was delivered today.but nobody comes between me and masterchef. :-D
