Neubie Report 27 Oct 2012 21:39

Lynda , it did happen . I'm not justifying the actions of anyone who was aware of the age of the people involved .
I am just pointing out that there were times when age was not discussed and there may be some who will now be dragged into an investigation who had no idea they were breaking the law.
Sorry if this offends , I know this is a very emotive subject but I am just looking at things from a different perspective ,
Hope this is understood

I was a bit slow realising who John was - by the way folks, he professes to be a Methodist preacher who preaches all over the Welsh Valleys and now he's preaching to us on here

His cover was blown apparently when I was on holidays

Neubie, I wasn't saying it didn't happen, I was just saying I didn't see it. You haven't offended me at all, I've seen and heard so much in my working life, I don't think I could be offended :-D

Blimey Ann, I'm :-0ed then :-S then :-D, but not surprised.

Jimmy's nephew has said he is so sorry for the victims
his family are now apologizing to the victims :-(

I think this spans across the UK and involves police and MPs, actors, presenters, who knows who. The police had 7 chances to act....they didnt. His family said the girls were liars and attention seekers (now they've suddenly changed their tune with the press on the doorstep) and his own brother was a convicted sex offended. His grand-niece was abused by a family member. How did they not know???

Maggie There are some on this thread who would always pull up those trousers. You are wrong to not get involved :-(

Terrible if what the granddaughter said about the "Duchess of Leeds" is correct :-0

maggiewinchester Report 28 Oct 2012 01:21

...apparently the lovely 'Duchess' knew, according to her grand daughter, abused by uncle Jimmy - but this was 'just his way'.....

I have the urge to pull up young men's trousers, ( you know the ones), and slap street spitters in the face - but I don't........because annoying as they are - it's not my business

I think the nephew of JS has got to be commended for facing the problem head on.
As a representative of the family he is carrying a dreadful burden not of his making, but rather than shy away and pretend the problem isn't his, he is acknowledging it whilst still reeling from his own personal shock of the revelations.-jl

Paul Gadd, aka Gary Glitter has been arrested today, no surprises there then.

I know the types Maggie, I feel the same, but when it comes to child abuse I make it my business, and have done so in the past. I wasn't listened to, when I first had an inkling something was wrong, but when the creep was arrested I was so pleased that I had told what I felt, and I hope because of that when the case went to court, it was another nail in his coffin, he got seven years by the way, not enough in my opinion, but at least he got some time behind bars.

A whole can of worms has been opened,

Peados in the industry who have in any way been connected to JS or not, must be crapping themselves now as more victims find the courage to speak out. :-D

Hope this brings closure to them all.

Oh dear, just watched the interview with the great niece (hope I have that right).
She accused some members of the family of turning a blind eye for financial gain. I flinched when she said that on TV.

I thought that should have been reported to the police investigating.

confused and don't know how I feel about it.com

~Lynda~ Report 28 Oct 2012 18:12

I haven't seen that interview as yet Sue, but have just listened to his Nephew, who said that he didn't know anything about the abuse. He said he couldn't understand how he was so awful, yet so good, doing all the work for charities that he did.

I suppose he as yet, he doesn't understand that is how paedophiles work, they mostly have two sides, one complete evil, the other Mr/Mrs wonderful.

What a shock for the nephew when he realises that his Nephew/Uncle relationship was a farce.

AnnCardiff Report 28 Oct 2012 18:22

I always felt the family must have had an idea - Chinese whispers and all that

supercrutch Report 28 Oct 2012 18:36

I thought the nephew seemed so genuine and I'll stick with that until proved otherwise. You have to hope that some of the family are good people.

a murderer a thief,a rapist,a wife beater and anything else in to the mix,,,,,,,they will still love him for what he was to them, and awful they are carrying the burden of what he did, when in reallity they should be carrying any guilt.....they are not in any way responsible

JS spent his time away from home while committing these acts so they would have no idea what he was up to.

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 28 Oct 2012 19:55

I too felt the nephew was genuine and he probably was - but others must have known

Rather than using Wikipeadia for information which is accurate

Why not just go to the library and look at any medical journals etc.,

I could go on to Wikipeadia now and add any old thing I wanted to any page. In fact there are people out there who do this on the Wiki pages of famous people just to see how often their 'fibs' are quoted by those who are too lazy to do proper research.

Wikipeadia - not research :-P
