If that didn't uplift you. I'd check your pulse.

What a show, and you know what, I don't care if it cost squillions, it was worth every single penny :-D

....and as I made London 2012, Seb said, I can bleat about it.

Thank you London you are amazing <3

absolutely phenomenal - every superlative you can lay your tongue on!! I have never seen such a fantastic show - delight after delight - Eric Idle - Always look on the bright side of life - fab - Freddie Mercury, John Lennon - that brought tears to my eyes - the whole thing was a dream from beginning to end - I've recorded it so I can look at it again - and lovely Gary Barlow - what a star to perform after such a personal tragedy AND I think I saw Victoria Beckham smile!!!

I felt so sad when the fire went out :-(

~Lynda~ Report 13 Aug 2012 00:26

It was sad when the flame went out, it was absolutely wonderful, and Macca was nowhere to be seen, perfect;-) As for Posh, I noticed the camera wasn't on her for long, and I don't think it was a smile Ann, it was wind :-)

Mauatthecoast

Mauatthecoast Report 13 Aug 2012 00:33

Loved the show. But didn't like Annie Lennox thought it was morbid and dire (i know it was about Bram Stoker but couldn't see why it was on?)
Eric Idle was one of my favourites :-D then was soo disappointed when David Bowie didn't appear...I was looking out for him :-( ....but love The Who.

Anyone else wonder why Prince William wasn't there cos he was at most of the sporting events, and I thought Harry didn't smile much. He's usually beaming isn't he? :-D

Mau
....btw who were the little people with red hair and striped suits? thought they must have been Ronald McDonald characters :-S

~Lynda~

~Lynda~ Report 13 Aug 2012 00:42

Mau I wondered the same about Harry, only him & Kate were there, I wondered if someone at the palace was ill, hope not, but it did cross my mind because Harry is usually so full of beans, the camera didn't go to him very much either.
I'd forgive Annie Lennox anything, love her :-D Thought The Who were wonderful, don't think Roger Daltry's voice has changed since the 60's :-)

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 13 Aug 2012 00:46

Maybe Harry was just not enjoying it very much!

William was quoted over here as saying that he was attending everything he could in the first week ............ because he had to go back to work the second week. So that explains why he wasn't there.

...... in case some twit decided to climb Snowdon in flip flops or plimsolls :-D

Mauatthecoast

Mauatthecoast Report 13 Aug 2012 00:52

Yes Lynda we wondered if someone was ill,but have just Googled and Sylvia you're right Wiliam had to return to work...no favours for him then....

Roger Daltry is ageing well, unlike Ray Davies (who I've always liked) his hair was awful! :-(....George Michael has still 'got' it' ;-)

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 13 Aug 2012 00:58

Didn't think much of most of the first half, but then I'm totally out of touch post Spice Girls - you can 'blame' that on the offspring.

Thought the loudest cheer for the volunteers was great. Well done to them.

~Lynda~

~Lynda~ Report 13 Aug 2012 01:01

Ray Davies didn't look too good did he, think he coloured his hair too often, but then again I don't look as good as I did in the 60's and I can't even sing, so he has one up on me :-D

My daughters off to see George Michael soon, wish I was going, I turned down a ticket before :-(

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 13 Aug 2012 06:31

My info re William came right out of the horse's mouth ..... his!!

He and Harry granted an interview to the Prime Time host of the Canadian broadcasting station that had the rights to the Olympic coverage ................. and we watched it.

They are fun to watch!!

The host commented that they had seen a lot of the sports ......... and William said then that he had to fit as much as he possibly could into the first week, because he had to go to work the second week.

Silly Sausage Report 13 Aug 2012 08:33

I thought it started off slow and was in parts cheesey, and I would of like to see Darcy dance some more she seemed to carried about a lot but I think the dance was to represent the flame which was carried......apart from that I loved it thought kasier cheifs and The Who brought the house down, Yes I agree Annie lennox set was good as well, Boris with his dads moves throwing show shapes and most of all I loved watching all the altherletes letting their hair down ....

we can throw aparty... :-D I didnt quiet get the Brazilian thing ...the guy in the orange suit? When we went up to see the Christ of redeema its on a mountain and takes a good 5/10 to get there by car along the way we pasted the guys in the tending the gardens they were prisoners, so that bit passed me :-S
