Morning all, im on the main computor with out the smiley faces. The ipad produces them however. Tis very strange.

Im very glad Aunty is back in tow. I will send her some broth down the cyber hatch laced with a medicinal tot. That should retore her to her normal cheer. I shall send you some cyber sponge Cherry dear and some real green tea from China for Lesley for I fear she still needs some.

I was a member many years ago of the Young Farmers, many a tale I could tell, but Lesley dear they had a great constitution for drink unlike your good self :0)

I did watch the booze bus Lesley and I too was wondering if FTE would be on it. Thankfully she was not but she knew someone who was! The Fruits facebook and phone were crackling with information after that :0)

FTE is in Vigo again today. I checked the weather, 11 degrees and sunny.

Im glad you are feeling a little better today Cherry. You must keep your strength to help Mrs Berry with Auntie.

I will send Insector Corner of the Yard out to look for the escapeeee and if she come hithering down the A12 i shall send her back very quickly to you

Morning ladies,

Well I have seemed to have missed another drama. I am pleased to hear Petunia is home again, safe and well, if a little thinner...
That dratted family of hers are a right royal pain in the harse, but don't tell her I said so :-D.

We had a very pleasant weekend and I am sorry to brag, but our weather was picture perfect and so hot. Maybe we will get a Summer after all. I am a little pink on my shoulders... naughty me. Thank you all for your good wishes to OH and I. CC , I did buy a card and no, he didn't..

We got up early yesterday and watched a huge cruise ship come into port, an amazing sight. Shame my rellies weren't looking out for us as we waved to 'them' on the boat.... Still, we had a lovely day together.

Petunia, yesterday I visited a rather nice shop what sells produce and all manner of lovely things , foodie wise. What did I see but the very same Clementine puddings you spoke of. The same W brand and with a price tag of $50 for the larger pudding.... Needless to say, we won't be having a Clementime pudding this year. I thought the price a little steep :-|.

I am off to the supermarket this morning to check out the frozen Turkey selection. I need a large Turkey , I fear the larger birds may not be so readily available.... :-S
Oh the trials of the festive season are about to come to pass..

Have a lovely evening,
Susan

Good evening dear Ladies,

How kind of you all to send me your good wishes dears. I am back to normal now and tickety boo!!!!

I too have been Christmas Shopping today, by that, I mean that I have been surfing the net [see I know all the jargon] and now that I have been on the South American River, the Adam fruit, and the Article Following, I have managed to purchase all manner of things. I did also peruse a Jo person, for perfumes and air fresheners. They all look very lovely, but a little out of my price range I am afraid.

I reverted to the Net, after venturing to the West End on Saturday. Dear Boris decided to make Oxford and Regents Streets pedestrianised . So no buses got anywhere near the dratted place. There was a young beat combo playing, McFly, and in BHS there was Alfie Boe. So lots of singists, but the place was heaving. I took flight and came back home.

We have been informed that this Winter will be the coldest for 100 years, so that gives us something to look forward to, I dont think.

Now that means that some poor people will not be able to keep themselves warm, and will make themselves ill. So sad. I know what it is like to try and keep this barn of a place warm.

I must agree, I too have a disfunctional family. But I think I am in good company. There are more than a few celebs who have love children, and all that that entails.

I have also gone to order my turkey dears, I am to have a Bronze one this year. I do hope that does not mean it is made of metal.

I shall return 'proper' tomorrow, after I have rested a little more. I dare say there is someone who will need nudging onto the straight and narrow.

'ello and good evening h'all. Brrrrrr, hasn't it been cold and damp today. I wont have to water my garden for goodness knows how long. It's as soggy as the moggy when she comes in from the rain.

*

Teresa, thank you for the cyber sponge. do you think if I share my sponge with Lesley, she will share her green tea with me? There is a slight problem however, I dropped my sponge in the bathtub this morning and now its very soapy.
Please, dear, keep Inspector Corner of the Yard under control, he tried to frisk me today. And his hands were very cold.

*

Well done Susan, getting your OH an anniversary card but not getting one from him in return. Now you have the upper hand ... make sure you use it wisely :-D

*

Ah there you are Petunia dear, I have been searching all over the Towers for you. I was starting to think I was in a scene from The Lady Vanishes. You look much better today. Pale and Interesting suits you, but do you think you should dress all in white? Your outfit today reminds me of a lady I once knew, called Miss Haversham. And in some Oriental lands, white is worn at bereavements, so Sergeant Klinger told me, he serves MASH doncha know.

Well, dear Petunia, you can no longer complain about my Hambush River purchases, for I fear the internet fever has caught you too. It is amazing what bargains one can find, that one didnt know one needed. You really should not mention Alfie Boe in my hearing ...... the excitement is bad for me. What a voice. I still have not recovered from that concert outside Buckingham Palace, where Alfie switched from O Sole Mio, in fine operatic mode, to It's Now Or Never, a la Elvis. *fans self furiously*

Did I tell you, I also grew up in a Victorian barn. Our legs turned bright blotchy red if we sat in front of the coal fire, but if we moved away from the fire we turned into icicles. Linoleum on the floor. Sash cord windows. Grates that needed raking out every morning. Tin baths on a Friday night. Ceilings so high that clouds formed when the coal fire died down. Young people today don't know they're born.

Yes indeed, there has been much mention on Sky News of old people dying of the cold. To the government, they are just statistics, but to a real person they were a much loved relative. Of course, the government then gets to keep all the pension payments that the elderly would have received, had they not died of the cold weather.

We must make sure you keep very warm this winter. When we run out of coal, I will fetch the logs in. When we run out of logs, I will start chopping up the furniture, what would you miss the least? That bloomin' wardrobe in the attic will be the first to go, if I have anything to do with it.
*throws another piece of coal on the blazing fire*
Why is the room filling with black smoke, Petunia dear? Did you remember to phone Mr DoAsYouWouldBeDoneBy to get the chimneys swept?

Good evening dear Ladies,

I have been on an errand of mercy - AGAIN.

Poor Octavia has had this Norvo and Knox virus that is doing the rounds. As you know it lays one very low. She has spent most of the last two days in the smallest room, not a pretty sight at all. Especially when she had the bucket between her knees!!

I have been a real Angel to her. I have been starving her to get the bugs out of her system, but making sure she has plenty of fluids so that she does not get dehydrated. I am sure Teresa will approve.

I have decided to stay here until she is up and running again, so will not be able to help you ladies out if the need arises. I am sure you will understand.

Why are you laughing dears? Did I say something funny?

I will indeed look on my Hee-mails, it must be important for you to remind me to look. I am very curious now. And we all know what happened to the Cat.

I hope you are all now wearing you Liberty Bodices with the rubber buttons dears, we all need to keep our chesticles warm in this chilly weather. Make sure it is long enough to cover your kidneys too dears. We do not want any waterwork problems do we?

By the by Cherry dear, why are you not parading in your finest in your Avatar dear. I particularly like the Alice Blue Gown you used to wear....................

Must dash dears, I can hear Octavia tinkling her bell again, do you know? I am sure I was cut out to be a proper Florence, I can see myself looking comely and considerate, and I think the lamplight would be advantageous to my complexion.

Dont know about taking to my bed for 10 years though.....................

Night night all

Petunia,
I am still laughing at a very funny/disturbing email I have received. Only in A.....a :-D. Some people are seriously weird, present company excluded of course.

CC, thanks for your email too. Do you mean that was actually posted ??

Oooh, tummy bugs are nasty - uness one needs to lose a few kilo's in a short space of time. :-D. I hope you do not fall victim to the nasty bugs..

I am puppy sitting this morning until I leave for work... The pup ate her own portion of porridge (made with soy milk) and apple and then barked at me for mine :-S, no way jose', as they say..

Nearly another month over, I am blowed if I know why this year has sped by faster than last year. Or do they all pass by this quickly as we get older??. I probably say the same thing every year..

I did purchase a frozen turkey this week, the largest I could find... Gawd knows how long it will need to thaw, let alone cook.
The madness has begun :-D.

Time to knock up a few sarnies and ready ,myself for the day ahead :-).

Toodle pip, keep warm, safe and well y'all ;-).

CherryCrumbles Report 28 Nov 2012 19:49

yes indeed, poor Octavia. As you know, I was one of this year's earliest victims of this dreadful Petit Cholera - mind you, I am very overweight so can afford to lose a few stones, but I didnt actually lose that much weight. My binbag ensembles do not need any adjustments as they are not too loose.

I am sure Octavia needs you, Petunia dear, but we need you too. Last night I had a little accident with a pair of scissors and have a flesh wound on my finger which is covered with a plaster. You were not here, and Mrs Berry had gone home for the night, and Pat rish aaaah was no where to be found. I had to apply the plaster myself, one handed.
*sobs* there was no one here to hear me crying "YAROO !!"

Alas all my old gowns were donated to Charity, in favour of the bin liner outfits, and there are no avatars of me wearing bin liners. And you must admit that Charity looks very good in my old clothes.

I do not wear liberty bodices, as you know, they are highly over rated. My dear Mama insisted I wear a liberty bodice in the 1950s, and I promptly caught new moan ee-ah. But I did enjoy the three months away from that Hell Hole known as 'School'.

CherryCrumbles Report 28 Nov 2012 19:56

Susan dear, please do PM me with that disturbing email. I like disturbing some people :-D

Yes, it was on the news. Some Bright Spark actually snuck that "Vacancy" on to a government website, until the department concerned discovered it and promptly deleted. But not before it had gone viral.

Not only tummy bugs. Tramadol causes severe diarrhoea too, as soon as you stop taking it. I lost half a stone in five days .......

The older we get, the faster the years roll round. Its a fact. It is because we have more years "on us" to compare each passing year with.

I would like to keep warm ..... but not too hot, of course ..... but now that the torrential rain has stopped the temperatures have dropped. The River Thames has risen alarmingly, with flood warnings in some parts of Outer London and the Home Counties, and the River Lea runs out from the Thames .....................

Give the puppy a pat on the head from me :-D and next time, make an extra portion of porage :-)

Oh my dear, I am here in my official capacity as Helper to the Sick and Needy..............................

IS THAT IT? Well dear, I can only surmise your pain threshold is very low dear. Tis nothing more than a scratch. A big scratch mind...............

Back to administer to Octavia. She has stopped vomitting now, but still going on Down Under......................

I hope to be back very soon, there are so many people not getting my full and deserving attention.

It isnt just a scratch Petunia dear. Look at the skin hanging off ... oh dear you do look pale. I hope you're not going to faint. I nearly passed out when I cut myself with the scissors. That TCP stings, by the way. not that I am ungrateful but ... YAROO !!

Do be careful dear, with all this rushing around you will collapse, and if you go down who will organise everything and everybody?

*groan* today I have the arduous task of matching up the credit card statement with the credit card transaction receipts. A dreary job, but someone has to check that no thieving b* has tried to put thru a fraudulent transaction in my name.

Oh well, Mrs Berry has just arrived, so I will go and instruct her to put the kettle on and make a nice pot of tea for two before she starts her day's chores. Mrs Berry and | get on so well, that I almost dont miss you Petunia dear.

Oh ................. there she was, gone.

CC, hoping you haven't been subjected to any flooding.?

Puppy duly patted, she thanks you very much... We didn't have our morning walk this am, as fruit was to leave town early for work and I wanted a lie in. Puppy apparently waited at the gate for me....

The email in question is from another source and is a series of photographs. I will happily email it to you if you would like. I didn't want to upset your computer - I know you don't like 'junk'.

Petunia, you are a real Florence, well done you. Are you wearing a mask and gloves? :-D. Who would nurse you should you fall ill?
Some years ago, my OH and I were ill at thesame time, I never want to be that ill again. My poor OH looked like he had been starved to near death by the time he recovered, I,err, had more to come and go on to start with :-P.

I have had the first cherries for the season and they are delicious. As children, they were an absolute treat for us, a very expensive fruit. I love them, don't spit the pips off into the distance now though ;-).

Big waves to Teresa and Lesley, hope you are both well?. CC, you won't have to do the washing up for a bit - not with an injury to your digit ;-).

Have a lovely weekend, we are off to friends for dinner tonight....

Toodle pip

CherryCrumbles Report 29 Nov 2012 20:02

thanks but no thanks Susan ..... the photographs might have a tracker embedded, so I shall pass on this one :-)

thanks for asking, we have been very lucky again, as where I am has been flood-free - we just got very wet in the rain is all.. The rain has stopped now, but we woke this morning to a definite drop in temperatures. When I opened the front door, it was worse than opening the freezer door.

Now - you should be ashamed of yourself, lazing in bed while the poor puppy waited at the gate for you. Have you made it up to her yet? :-D :-D

When our youngest was a baby, and the oldest a toddler, both MFH and I took sick at the same time with the Norovirus. No one would come in to help us with the children, in case they caught it too. You can imagine how frightened I was, having to cook the kiddies' meals, not knowing if my germs would transfer to them.

Cherries are very expensive to buy in the UK as well. Just dont spit the stones at this Cherry thank you, or else I will get the pip :-D :-D :-P :-P ;-) ;-)

Alas a damaged digit is no reason for me to avoid washing up. *martyred expression on face* No one else will do it. I have my Marigold gloves to keep my hands dry.

With Teresa talking of sausage casseroles the other day, it put a notion into my mind. I bought some low fat sausages from SainsCo, and am sitting here now with mashed potato, carrots and green beans, pulped in chunky vegetable soup, with grilled sausages and mushrooms, and not a trace of lard or oil anywhere to be seen, arent I a good girl.

And for afters, I shall be a naughty girl. I pulverised some digestive biscuits, mixed in some melted magarine, spread some Lemon curd over that mix once it had firmed. And its now in the fridge chilling, ready for me to spread some fat free Greek style yogurt over the portion I shall be eating. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D A Poor Mans's Cheesecake.

For those who can still enjoy the luxuries of life, instead of the fat free yogurt, use Mascarpone; it makes an excellent topping :-)
