At last,

Nickydownsouth I thought I was the only one who saw Gary Glitter before we knew what a slime ball he was, and other words I wont mention in polite company.

I have seen Allan Carr when he was on tour last summer. He was so funny, my Daughter and I laughed till we cried. The funniest thing though was a young woman who was sitting in the row in front who never raised a smile all night. She had a face like thunder, Im not sure why she was there. I would have thought if someone had paid to see Allan Carr they knew what he would be like. The bloke who was with her was in hysterics. Maybe they had had a row!

I have also seen Lenny Henry, Daria O Brien, Hugh Dennis and Steve Punt doing stand up over the years. They were all very funny, especially Lenny Henry.

We did see Al Murray (the pub landlord) What a waste of money, we thought he would be good but he was rude, and insulting and not at all funny.

Jude,

Alan Carr was brilliant, was his Spexy Beast tour last year......laughed so much my stomach hurt, he`s a bit crude, but you know that if you`ve seen him on TV......well worth a ticket if he tours again.

I didn`nt see Take That with Robbie until he joined them again last year, never got there when they all together in the 90`s, I was one of the lucky ones who got to see them at Wembley.

I saw Take That just the 4 of them 2 years earlier, i was right down in the front ...standing in the crush with 100`s of others, the atmosphere was amazing, and despite the huge blisters on my feet the next days and achy joints from all the dancing and jumping about it was worth every penny.

Was lucky enough to see Robbie at Milton keynes on his close encounters
tour in 2006...was the last time he toured, was lucky enough to be in the golden circle in front of the stage that time as well, but was about 15 metres back, he was amazing...

The one person I still want to see is Elton John...I was a teenager in the 70`s and Rod stewart , Elton john and The Who were my favourites, I know Elton dosn`t tour as such anymore, but does do one off gigs...will have to try and catch him then.

Cooper...I`m suprised Al murray wasn`t funny, i think he`s great on the tv

Must add I would also love to see Michael Buble, but think tickets always sell out immeadatley they go on sale, so have to be quick.

Nicky I saw Rod Stewart last year in Hyde Park can't say I was looking forward to it but he was absolutely amazing.

I believe Elton John is going on tour very soon.

Ooh, just remembered I have seen Richard E. Grant. What a striking looking man, and yes, he does have very blue eyes.

Have also spoken to the lovely Charles Dance.

Island

Island Report 10 May 2012 16:21

Teresa
I owned up to seeing GG, well sort of, I didn't mention his name. He got booed off and a beer can shower.
Pre sleaze and unexpected - we'd gone to see proper old rockers.

Cooper

Cooper Report 10 May 2012 16:31

I bet there are more of us about Island. We students at the time would cheer anything including GG. He was good though pre sleaze and if I had know I would have saved my money :-(

We didn't actually go to see him Teresa (and wouldn't have, *shudders*) I'm not sure why he was on the bill, he was a tad incongruous in the line up. :-0 :-\

Oooh just remembered, cos I heard their records this morning.

I saw Roy Orbison on two occasions also Gene Pitney.

Also in the early 70's we went to some grotty little pub in the West End, and I am sure we saw The Sex Pistols. They were a fledgling group then, but the kids were po-going and gobbing all over the place.
