Hayley, that's the point isn't it, we all have different skills and not being great at one thing doesn't mean you can't be brilliant at 100 others :-D

Talking about this earlier with D, one of his mates was having a go because D didn't know how to work out the area of a trapezoid ( my fault lol) ... but said lad who is a 'maths whiz' can't work out how much change from a tenner in the shops, or VAT, or profit margins lol ( Dan's speciality...making a profit ;-) )

Ditto someone in the family who is dyslexic...is on a salary that most of us aspire to because what he does he does very well :-)

Try using cream paper rather than white only works for some though but worth a try I have used it with a child I have supported in the past works wonders and such a small change

I think it was probably RR'd because a) it's about a petition and b) it had a link to said petition.

It's not necessarily the usual RR culprit here...possible even GR themselves while they look into it. Who knows?

Ann, perhaps, because I missed the link, you could send it me via FB or PM here please? We can at least let this go viral on FB

Got to go in a minute, but I have a dyslexic daughter. But it didn't stop her passing her driving test first time, and she runs her own business, as a female taxi business in the North West, and she is on the road driving herself. Good luck to Her I day.

Dylexia was unheard off when I was at school, even my own mum used to say I can't understand why our Hayley is so thick, I was the classic, class clown, gobby, always wanted the lead parts in any drama production, I was a good neat writing I used to really try, I could read back what I had written just the teacher couldnt, I got cained for cheating in maths which I didnt, he said I had took the answers from his desk, I asked him to make some up there and then but because I couldn't explain how I came to the answer he said it was a lucky guess, got to the point in the end I just thought ...stuff it was sad because I did really enjoy school ( providing I didnt have a hangover) and didnt realise until my early 20's that this dylexia everyone talked about was just like me, still my mum denied I had it, even still she makes referenaces to me being thick, I was in my 30's before I finally plucked up the courage to signed up for my english GCSE and discovered this thirst for knowledge, got tested confirmed I was and never looked back.

I think TW is probably right with her analysis. There's been quite a few threads (usually on genealogy chat) that have been rr'd lately. I don't think it has been anything to do with the review requests seen quite recently on general chat.

As far as it being reported because it is about a petition... yes I can see that if it were in any way a political petition or a petition that might impinge unfairly on the rights or freedoms of someone else that might be fair.

But this is not such a petition.

It is a cross-party, cross-race, cross-religion, cross-gender and cross-just about anything else you can name. petition to benefit children in the future.

And more to the point no one had to read it or sign it, and no one would have known if they had or hadn't.

RR'd and I missed it. Goodness knows why, I don't think it can be the link as GR have given us the ability to use links now. Not nice that somebody doesn't care about all children with dyslexia being recognised. Oh well wait and see I suppose.

words dont they just fail ya,,,,,,

petty minded,

no one comes forward though to admit they have the arrogance to report. :-| :-| :-|

If GR have done it,,,,,,,,,,,,then they should come clean and say,,,,,,,,not leave it open to blame being placed here there and everywhere,,,,,,,,,as they do and are to blame for lots of unrest regards RReports,,,,,,

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 27 Feb 2012 21:45

Not sure that GR would, can't see anything about petitions in the T&Cs although I believe one might have been deleted some time ago. Who can object to signing a petition to get more teacher training. Not to worry, it raised the issue on here foe quite a while and lots of views recorded as well. I just wish people would have the 'guts' to approach the poster and ask for it to be removed if it offends. There was only one really negative post on the thread and I don't think she would report without saying. I have emailed support to ask why it was reported so shall wait and see and shall not lose any sleep over it. :-D
