Puss you certainly know how to make someone feel good about themselves, although we have never met we have spoken half a dozen or so times on this thread, I couldn't have left much of an impression.

Anyway talking about bugs did you squash or spray your furry maggoty things
:-) :-) :-)

If anyone has clematis in the garden that is the sort that forms the seed heads like old man's beard. Be very careful if you want to cut it back. Wearing a mask would be preferable. My OH was cutting it yesterday and the dust from the seed heads got right into his throat and made him choke/cough. It was a good 10 minutes before he could stop coughing. He won't make that mistake again.

Ann
Sorry to hear about T. Good tip to wear a mask when pruning Clematis.

Does anyone know or could advise when you should feed Camelias.
I have one in a pot that needs attention but not sure if it's feeding that it needs.

Thinking of Daff cos if I remember correctly she knew about Camelias.
Take care
Von

Camellias - feed with ericaeous liquid feed - most important bit is do not let them dry out especially during summer months - otherwise you will not have many buds/if any come the following spring.

We grew ours in a large pot for some 4-5 years then transferred it to garden on west wal l- having dug a large hole filled that with the ericaeous compost and every couple of years put a couple of spadefuls around the top.

It is a picture each spring - covered with buds at moment.

Chris your Camelias sound lovely.
When do I feed them. Now or some other time of the year?

Fred reporting in from Wootton Basset after a lovely drive down in nice sunshine.
You have either been given Spanish Squill ,or Bluebell ,Puss put them in after a few minutes with the bulbs immersed in TEPID water, and water once a week until the foliage stands up again ,they should be fine.
Off to Brize Norton tomorrow morning to pick the grandson up ,he is thrilled to be in Cyprus this evening ,away from Afghanistan after his 6 month stint .
Looking forward to a decent meal again ,everything over there to do with Chicken ,so we have got some nice beef to go in a roasting tin ,he he.
The dinner was spot on Puss ,even the furry one got her piece ,witch she made short work of ,lol,Fred.

Thanks fred, shall do, sadly i have a cousin who is dying in sunderland, so i want to travel up as soon as gall bladder removed, , so can i take up your kind offer of paying a visit with specky or meeting for a brew somewhere

im loving doing my garden, i can only do little bits at a time but its all mine and ive done it, i was going to pay the village gardener to sort it for spring, so i spent it on my trees,

my peach tree is still in my living room, it looks pretty with its pink flowers
but will have to go out before birds get in and nest lol.

well done to your grandson, you must be proud, my lass is 25 she is in the RAF personel but she has to train the same.

chris what do u think ive done wrong with my camellia, its only got leaves on xx?

badger Report 23 Mar 2012 06:01

Course you can ,daft skite ,lol, once you tear yourself away from Makkum land ,my pad is only half hour away by train ,bus ,or car,and the house it will be ,no sense in meeting in the town when there is a nice patio and comfortable chairs to sit in if it's sunny, and a chance for you to meet the furry one,who will probably be all over you like a rash.
Woken up at 4am this morning by the grandson ,grrrrrrr ,an sms to tell me he will be landing at Brize at 1 pm our time .
So this is why i am on the puter at this time of morning .
This will cost him a Mc donalds [ a biiiiiig one] for the aggro he he .
Too late to do roast beef ,so i will make a Shepherds pie ,using the meatless mix i brought down with me.
Catch you later all,off for brekkie now ,toast i think ,cause that's all thats in :-( Fred.
