Ann, I hope your daughter's op will go well and things will look brighter as she recovers and gets used to the diabetes diet changes etc A worrying time for you all but so lucky it was caught early and can be dealt with speedily. I don't blame her for wanting the op over and done with.

I know you will be anxious, it's only natural, but try to relax as best you can. You will feel better when the op is over and you have spoken with your daughter

Not heard anything yet Jude. she didn't know what time the op was going to be as it is day surgery. I am hoping they let me know when she is through it but she did say it could be a late one as first she had to go to Southampton hospital to have dye injected and then drive to Winchester hospital for the op. I am hoping the ward is not one of those closed because of the Norovirus but I think I'd know by now if it was.

sorry we had visitors all evening. Had a text from her OH about 8pm to say she was out of surgery and eating a sandwich, fine but sore and waiting to hear if she could go home. Not heard anything else. will let you know when I do. Probably tomorrow.

Yes it was a heck of a long day!!! (For her too no doubt.) But it was a good job we had people in for drinks as I had to prepare nibbles and heat sausage rolls etc which kept my mind ocupied.

Just had an e mail from daughter, she feels fine, doesn't have any effects from the anaesthetic and slept well, and is not too sore.
