Yes of course Teresa I too think that could work, also Gazza randomly turning up with his fishing rod :-(

Had they managed to gain retrospective planning permission the land would have been worth a lot more money. Then they would have sold it and moved on no doubt.

How sad they would have been to leave then.

From watching the reports you might well believe the whole site was being cleared.

It is quite important to remember it is only the illegal part.

One thing about this has struck me....Where are all the traveller men? Not seen one genuine one on the front line..only the women?

StrayKitten

StrayKitten Report 20 Oct 2011 09:52

i sure most of the men on the scaffoldng, were activists not travellers, x

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 20 Oct 2011 09:59

Yep scaffold lot were definitely activists.

Now if ever there was a reason to withdraw benefits for the undeserving people like that are it.

Sorry..but the state are paying them to cause millions of pounds worth of destruction as a rent a mob. If it wasn't so tragic it would be funny.

If they don't want to be part of society..fine...but they shouldn't take and the state shouldn't offer hand outs.

Sharron

Sharron Report 20 Oct 2011 09:59

I wonder if the travellers even want the activists there. They are doing nothing for their case.

StrayKitten

StrayKitten Report 20 Oct 2011 10:09

iv read somwere tht some of the travellers are embarased at how the activists acted yesterday, of course some agreed wiht there actions tho x

Just watching the eviction of Dale Farm. Looks like all the activists have been removed. Now for the illegal residents and goodness knows what they are going to do. What a debacle. I hope lessons will be learned from this. Where will they go. Not very nice to see anyone homeless. Maybe it's about time Ireland took some responsibility for their travelling community and too provided sites for them.

some have been offered houses, and turned them down,
also, some have £100.000 homes back in ireland so all is not what it seems

Sharron

Sharron Report 20 Oct 2011 11:16

I wonder if those who were living there quietly and legally actually wanted the others to live there ir if they were co-erced into taking them in.

The legal ones would not have wanted trouble. They are settled and keeping a low profile so as to fit in and earn a living as static dwellers.
