Got back at noon today. Very weak but germ free! Brain full of cannulas, injections and drips. This was 15th day. Arms are a wonderful sea of purple as I kept having new canulas - 7 in all!

Consultant informed me that I caught worse possible infection I could - OH not suprised - said I always go OTT! It is a rare bird apparently but having said that OH has it under control - says first time I ever cough he will be off to surgery with sample!

Lots of laughter in our 6 bedded ward - told I was ringleader - I refute that. Am desperate for hairdresser - haven't been for about 9 weeks - rang up - hairdresser left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How could she do that to me? However have appointment for tomorrow afternoon so should improve my appearance as even the cleaning ward man said at 7.30 a.m. today I looked as if I had had a night on the tiles!

Seriously Thank God for our NHS and please sign the petition against the proposed 2 tier service.

Thank you all for your good wishes, just read them and checked mail and am off for a quiet lie down.

Thank you all so much for your good wishes. Nice to be home and then switch on and find your friends missed you. It is good.

Have 2 weeks to gather up strength and then it is off for a long weekend in a nice hotel (have been before) to celebrate OH's bday. Looking forward to it and he needs a break.

Wakened this mornng and sun is splitting the heavens - OH says if I had stayed in hospital he could have gone for 18 holes of golf!

Hairdresser - am beginning to think OH was right - he thought I should leave it for a few days - the bogey is our long garden path to the car! See what state I am in after getting dressed, might delay until Tuesday. Can always put head under blanket.

One step at a time Mrs!! can hairdresser come to the house??

Jude - she probably would - problem is me - need to lean back for hairwash and not possible for me without proper chair - panic if water down face!!!!!!

Know how you feel. I panic taking a sweater off over my head. Have you tried the dry shampoo - comes in an aerosol can. But I expect your looking to have your hair styled in a way that befits the leader of the pack. It sure is a good sign that your getting better :-)

Vera it is a hair cut I need badly - usually go every 2 weeks and cut every six - haven't been for 9-10 weeks. OH says the same - if all you have to worry about is how quick you can get to the hairdressers, you are better, just weak!!!!

Tried dried shampoo in ICU - made me itch like mad so they lowered head of bed and washed my hair. It was bliss. Am going Tuesday now and am exercising up and down landing strengthening the leggies!

Hope you feel stronger each day Chris and can enjoy being pampered on Tuesday.

Hi Chris from Tenerife. Just caught up with this and so pleased to see that you are home and germ free. Long may it last. I hope that you can soon cope with a visit to the hairdresser and that you will then feel like a new woman.
