Hello all,

Well, as you move into your cold weather, we are moving into our hot season. Forcast top for today (Friday) is 27c, but rain has been forecast for Saturday. The Queen is due to arrive in Perth for CHOGM next week. Massive disruptions and Police have beeen drafted in from all over the State leaving many areas undermanned.

I've changed my picture from the cat to a lizard. The lizard is a bobtail (or blue-tongued) lizard and is one of a family of four which live in our garden. They keep the snails down and every morning are outside the backdoor at about 11.00 am for a cut up tomato which they love.

They also enjoy strawberries and we have to make sure that we get to them first!

Take care all

Allan How big are the lizards ? .all we get are rabbits & plenty of birds .in the garden, your weather sounds good ..its certainly colder now here in scotland Barbra

Allan

Allan Report 20 Oct 2011 23:21

Barbra, They are between 9" and 12" long. Two have orang patterning on their headswhilst the others are darker.

They don't have teeth, but have very strong jaws. Once they get used to you they will come to you when they see you. Ours are wild ones which have just moved into the garden and established themselves, but some people do actually keep them as pets.

We no longer use snail pellets as the chemical can also kill the lizards if they eat snails which have also eaten the pellets

Allan You have gone green now & let the lizards rid your garden of nastys` good one .. I dont use chemicals .put salt on weeds on the paths & grass cuttings under plants to keep the weeds down .it seems to work ..Have a good day
Night Barbra x :-)
