Sorry you have not been too well hope you feel better soon. I try to look to see if everybody is on and read all the messages. Telly is awful just lately what happened to all those lovely programmes we got years ago .comedies old films and interesting programmes now I end up reading or putting a video on. Just turned it off the TV.
Beryl is a bit like Joanna in Ab Fab she had wonderful natural curly blonde hair I was envious of my straight permed job. now Beryls hair changes from lilac to Blonde, very blonde and once she put a reddish rinse on it over lilac and it went purple. I love stuffed marrow but cannot get any big enough .I can amagine if I tried to grow one it would be like a cucumber. Ramadan is coming up for my son in law soon that should be interesting. SHEILA.

Time I went to bed do have a good memory but also my daughter askes me all about my life and what I have forgotton she reminds over the past years what I have told her .She puts photoes in a journal and everything about me and her dad these things have mentioned were important memories to me. I loved my childhood but hated my teens. Like I said my dad died and I had to work to keep my mum going until I got married it was one hard slog i had to keep doing different jobs to make more money and it was great to get married and by then mum was fine but most happy when I moved to London have lots of wonderful memories of my time in London. but wont bore you with those. well I can go to bed now it is late and deleted one message by mistake my arm is so sore I have trouble in bed thats why I am still here just typed up several ancestry notes bye all have a lovely week

Morning All Look at the time!!!!!! I can't sleep.Have been awake for a good hour or so.Tried reading in bed with a tiny light so I didn't wake Chris,Then I wanted the fan on,so just thought blow it I may as well get up. Sid the cat from next door is sat out at the edge of the road staring into the verge.Must be mice or something there.I just hope Sid doesn't get hit by a car. It looks like we may have had a teeny drop of rain in the night, but hardly anything. Right I am going to let Chester out for a wee and make myself a cup of tea.See you in a while sleepyheads.

I need to do food shopping ,but my brain is blank and I can't think what to have for meals over the next few days.Maybe a cup of coffee will help. Afternoon all, I've been sitting here catching up on posts, and forgot I had a saucepan on the gas, cooking carrots for shepherds pie. (I like to cook them down before going into mince and onion) Saw Janes posting about food. I jumped up and just caught it. THANKS JANE !!!
Had a fair bit of rain, and more to come.
Had a bad throat for almost a week now, used two bottles of Benalon, now started on Corvonia. hope it clears up soon.

Afternoon All,
We had a bit of rain earlier, but dull and dry now. I have been flopped in bed a few hours with hot cheeks!! lol Tried to snooze, but there are men with guns out the back shooting the bunnies!! Then a neighbour got his mower out so not much luck. I Had a restless night and an alarm went off at about 3.00am, then just as I decided to watch TV at 6.30am the electric went off.!! I seem to have the start of a chesty cough and cold now......still, a better sign than a dry cough for me. paracetomol and some honey and lemon I think.
We are booking up to go on a wildlife and Osprey spotting trip on Rutland Water next month. It starts at 6.30am so we will have to be up with the lark that day. OH will want to be early!!
MIL's telegram from Buck Palace for their diamond wedding is in hand. We got a quality envelope with a big ER in red on it this morning and a letter on thick posh paper. lol
James is lucky we have mobiles these days isn't he Jane. lol They could be waiting for ages. lol

I love reading all your memories.
One of my earliest memories is my first day at school. I was so looking forward to going, but what a shock when I did lol. The problem was my teacher. Boy was she scary. Mrs H had the loudest voice you can imagine and jumped into a rage at the slightest thing. She wasn't how you would imagine any 'reception' teacher to be. I retreated into my shell and it wasn't long before my parents' were called to the school. I'm not sure exactly what they were told, but it seems she thought I was 'backward'. The truth was that she scared me so much that I couldn't muster up the courage to read to her or to focus on my work. Eventually I moved into a new class and was much happier. Never liked school though lol. My dad always used to say that 'your school days are the best days of your life'... He was so wrong lol

Hi Catie, Glad you like the thread. What a pity you didn't like school.Horrible teacher!!.Someone like that can put you off forever. One of my teachers in primary taught maths(He was Head too) and because I messed up my maths ,because I just couldn't understand it,he chalked a X on the floor and made me stand on it.He said it was a tin of Kit-e-cat.From that day on .I had a mental block when it came to any type of maths ,and am still a bit like it today.. I have just watered the garden .......and it is just beginning to rain !!! Poor Ann ,and your hot cheeks!!!!!!!!.I bet Frank will have something to say about them lol.I hope you don't get worse. Shirl ,our tomatoes are not doing that well this year.Have no idea why.But we do have some wonderful lavenders with a strong scent.

Hi Catie
I didn't like starting school either and remember being so choked up with tears I could hardly swallow. I was an only child till I was 9 and lived in a small village and had virtually no contact with other children........I was terrified. I remember just sitting there with some peg and hole game they put in front of me and not knowing what to do. Then a boy started stealing my penguin bar and followed me into the girls toilet to get it. I told mum about that and the teacher kept him in in the mornings after that. I remember I could hardly wriggle onto the bus leather seats and was frightened the bus wouldn't stop at my house. I was a very worried child.

Ive had to go back to today in agony with my arm full of infection they squeezed it all out rotton lot. I have been typing with two fingers for a month thats why my typing is naff .Lucky you got your American poor me saw mine sailing off into the sunlight could see him on the ship waving his arms. They would not let me go across in the boat from the dock the silly goose did not give me a pass I sat and saw it later sail up the solent and disapear do not know where it was going never thought to ask. I was left with a photo of him and a botton off his uniform .He was cute really. Oh well he probably got married and had 12 kids.
