Afternoon All,

Sun, sun sun again! The poor doggies are not doing too well, dicky tum for Toby and I can just imagine what Chester's reaction to a squirt up the bum would be........let me outa here....full steam ahead!!! lol

We have done our task of putting the edgings and extra post in this morning with a few of the usual disagreements!! lol The post was a bit twisted but it will look ok when the trellis is up. OH has gone to get a couple more brackets for the trellis and to take some things to his parents including a half of our first cucumber. lol. I have scanned a wedding photo for the newspaper ready for their diamond wedding announcement in the local paper in August, so that's one of the things he's returning........I suspect he may be looking at birthday cards too!!!!

I was thinking of Maureen too.......quite an emotional and difficult time. XXXXX

GOOD DAY !!!!!. What with lewis here for the weekend, and Ros with her games I haven't been allowed near the computer. !!!! Lewis has been on the games and Ebay." Pappy" Can you buy me this card collectors box. I have £5.00 towards it. As if I would take his money.
He also decided he wanted his "SWING BALL" put up in the lawn. What a job, gound as hard as rock. After about half an hour I managed to get the spike into the ground. He decided to Water round the post to try to get it in further. All he did was to soften the soil, and made the post loose in the ground, as he hit the ball. Thence a hole the size of a small cup. Which when we took in down, he proceeded to fill the hole with small stones, which I had to get out this morning and fill the hole with soil.I will put some seed around that area when we are getting rain. BOYS !!!!!

JANE I thought you had made Lesbian salad, and thought what the hell is that LOL.

The wind certainly blew well yesterday, Next doors brolly even though collapsed. Blew over and split his patio table. But it was so warm. I was in shorts all day, as I have been today.

When Lewis's M & D turned up at 4pm. I haden't even got dinner started, so they sat around ,while I cooked our dinner, which we ended up having about 5.30pm. They went home about 7.00pm. He wants to come back again this weekend. But I think he has a Scout do on Sat. So they are comming for dinner Sunday, and Rutland Son, whose Birthday in Friday 9th is comming too, so a family get together.

I have drilled holes in two STUMPS this morning, and I expecting some tree root killer in the post this week. Then I can pour the stuff in the holes and kill them off, before trying to dig them out. Landscape gardener SON still hasn't bothered to do it for me, so SOD him, I'll do it myself. (SOMEHOW).

Maureen must be over the worst part of the day now, I know it will take a while to get back to normal, we have all been there, Bless her.

David, another old grannies remedy for ear ache was to get a clean tea towel. Heat table salt in a dry frying pan and when it goes brown, pour it into the tea towl and make a cushion, and lay your ear on it. The crystals in the salt draw the wax. BE CAREFUL NOT TO BURN YOUR EAR, AS THE SALT GETS VERY HOT. It worked for me as a child.

Mel, I thought you might have put small slabs round the curved end of the pond. My pond is almost round and thats what I did, and it hid the liner too.

Hello Frank,Glad you had a good weekend. You will have to get yourself a laptop so you each have a pooter lol.I have never played a game on the computer.I don't really want to start that,as I will get even less done.In this hot weather we have been having I have just done the bare minimum in the house, and of course I couldn't possibly get into housework when the Tennis and football were on lol.
I was changing my bed earlier and having the usual tussle with the cover on Duvet, and I remembered the first time I ever saw a Duvet. It was in 1967,when I was on a Ski-ing trip with school in Austria.I had never seen such things and to have a feather one on my bed was just bliss. It was very thick but was light.
It must have been a good few years after that ,that Mum ditched the blankets and eiderdowns for Duvets. We thought we were dead modern lol
Even my Nana who lived with us wanted one.

I expect Maureen is exhausted now after today, and having everyone back at her house.I think about 40 people!.Difficult day,as many of us have experienced.I think she will join us again very soon.

Frank Report 5 Jul 2010 20:13

Where are you all,

Ros is watching her "SOAPS" so I thought I would pop in for a chat. But if you are all watching the soaps I've got no chance.

We don't have Duvet's we have a very light throw thing over cotton sheets, summer and winter the same, we are both very hot in bed, and if I get near her she says You are making me hot.!!!!.

Done all the watering, everything is so dry. The tomato plants are in pots, that sit in deep trays. They seem to dry out each day, still waiting for the first cues. Runner beans, are going made, have now joined the Wisteria over the garage. Will need steps to pick the ones up high.

Jane, We only have a laptop. but it sits next to the printer and the Photo printer, we don't disconect it from the mains very often, only when we take it out with us to Rutland Sons.
