A George Augustus Mankiewicz died in the September quarter of 1909 in Amersham, Bucks.......same year of death as 'Uncle' so was he the 'Uncle' who wrote the letter?? If so, then he obviously adopted the child who then lived with him. |

IF this is the same man, he died 13/8/1909 at Coleshill House, Coleshill, Amersham, Bucks. At the time of his death he had 2 addresses in London, 20, Park St, Grosvenor Sq Middx and 62 Broad St. His brother Franz was also a stockbroker. |

Oh sorry Jane I thought 'Uncle' had died 1909. I suppose it could still be him if Fitz knows when he died. He certainly had the means to leave such a generous amount to Edith. |

Oh what a job I've had this morning., one of my bushes between my neighbours and my garden, died last year. I cut it right back. Drilled holes in the trunk and put root poison in.I decided this morning to dig it out. After an hour, all the root ball was uncovered, but the begger would'nt move. So out came a couple of tow ropes, got Ros to back the car up the pavement.,tied off the rope and she pulled in every direction. Front Tyres spinning, then sudenly it went, spread dirt all over neighbours lawn. I have cleaned it all up and reseeded the area. While I had the hole I planted a dozen Daffs, and a few wallflowers. Now got to get rid of stump. |
