Matthew Pincent is directly connected to William the Conquerer ( can't spell) . How brilliant is that. The blasted fire from next door is still blowing lol.It comes across in big clouds!! But I am not a party pooper so will just put up with it.

James Henry Leigh Hunt Mel my grandad had a book of his poems and remember him reading that to me. I do not think anyones heard my reading of Goldilocks the author wrote a long version and I cut it down for reading in school. I think maybe his version was better.
Good day to everyone hope you are having a nice one. If you wish to see a really good wartime funny film go and see Nannie McPhee and the Big Bang.I saw it yesterday and it was so funny. I picked Beryl up she was moaning she felt depressed and I said fancy the pictures she said ok well she said its a kids film but she enjoyed it also you must see or buy it on a cd casette. I had to laugh because whenI took Beryl home she found Bernie her lodger asleep in the bath she said I could have done without that site late at night she said I thought he was dead and poked him with the mop and he jumped out of his skin .

Oh Sheila ,I'm so glad you put up your post .It has made me laugh.I needed that.Just had a call from my sister in tears .They have had to make the decision to have Molly put down this morning. She suddenly lost it and has attacked the other dogs.Janice said the garden was like a blood bath. They are all terribly shaken up.Janice and her OH had to grab Molly to force her mouth open to let go of Aggie. We are now wondering if she went after Thomas(the cat) and that's why he went missing.

'' Poked him with a mop''..... That made me roar Sheila lol Glad I wasn't the one in the bath asleep .... What a shock that would have been lol
Well, we had a bit of a surprise this weekend. Our next door neighbours are in their late seventies and as such we lend them a hand when we can.... Pull their dustbins out on dustbin day.... cut their lawns when we do our own ... that sort of thing. They are such a nice couple and it's a pleasure to help them. Anyway, yesterday morn we received a knock at our door and it was their youngest son. He said as a gesture of thanks for helping his parents he wondered if we would be able to accept a gift..... We said that we were pleased to be able to help etc... To cut a long story short, he took us to his house which he's just refurbished. One of the bedrooms had a triple oak wardrobe , chest of drawers and bedside cabinet - which he said was ours if we liked them. They were obviously expensive and we said we couldn't accept them.... but he wouldn't take no for an answer. I couldn't believe his generosity to be honest. There was a sad sting to this tale however as he's divorcing and so he's clearing the house he's never lived in. Everything inside is brand new too. I know he has 3 young children - so felt sad that the marriage is at end. He's selling that house and his wife is living in the family home and he's living in the house that they used to rent. I think he's seen the state of our place and taken pity on us lol

Catie ,that is a lovely gift.Do you have space for it lol?.What a shame his marriage has broken down.It does sound as though you and your OH are really appreciated. My sister said the first attack from Molly was on Tuesday when they took all the dogs up Cleeve Hill.Luckily Janice had hold of the long lead, but got dragged along on the ground, and has scrapes and bruises all up her back. The last attack was yesterday in the garden. They managed to get Molly into emergency kennels while they had a word with the vet.It was decided Molly could no longer be trusted even if she was re-homed.So poor Larry my BIL had to collect her from kennels this morning and take her straight to be put to sleep.Molly was Larry's shadow and he is distraught.Hopefully peace will reign now.
Sheila was Bernie asleep in water (naked) ?Or was it an empty bath. Which bit did she poke with the mop ? lol
Just had the religious people on the doorstep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.On a Sunday too lol.I do object to preaching on the doorstep.

Jane, I really feel for Janice and her husband. How sad for them. I think it will take quite a while for them to get over it. Yes, we certainly had room for the furniture. It's so beautiful and I'm really touched by their kindness. It might sound daft, but I had a few tears about it.
Sheila, if I was a script writer, I would certainly make a sit comedy about Beryl lol

I'm glad I wasn't in that bath, full of water or not. I can just imagine that poor bloke waking up to that.
Catiel, It just goes to show what people think of kindness to older folk. My neighbour when he's around will get our bin in and out, and if he sees us come home from shopping he comes out and brings in the bags. I try to repay him by giving him bits and peices that we grow. The other week it was his wifes B'day, We had loads of Sausages, B'Burgers, pork chops etc. in the freezer which we supplied for their BBQ.as a thank you.
Jane, Sorry to hear about your Sisters dog, hope she gets over it soon. Button down the HATCHES tonight. We are suppose to get heavy rain, and local flooding in the Midlands and East Anglia.

Evening All Have just picked what veg I can for tomorrow as it might be too wet in the morning if the forecast is correct.Have taken the canopy of the gazebo AGAIN lol Janice thinks it was this Dominance thing that packs of dogs have.Molly has been showing signs of this problem lately but obviously she went too far.Thank god no-one was hurt. What if on the grandchildren had been caught up in it !.It really doesn't bear thinking about.
It is so still outside now and it feels a bit eerie.Calm before the storm me thinks.

if someone gave me some funiture I would cry Catie what sad circumstances though The only thing anyone gave me was a Clarence Cliff teapot it was red and white and black with poppies on it and I am told it is worth a lot. We had a vase given to the charity shop in the same colour.I bought it not long ago for for five pound .Most people hate that stuff but I like it.
I think you all should stay with Beryl for a week.I do not think you would be sane .Today in the pictures she bought a huge box of popcorn and decided she did not want it so took it back and swopped if for a hotdog. I would not have had the cheek. Anyway have a nice happy day tomorrow everyone I am pooped out after a stint in that shop .
