We had the high wind yesterday.

Oh just looked at my last post and I have invented a new word!! Screenat, it's quite nice is'nt it?
Mandy make sure you wash off the soa[y water as it may hurt the plants and flowers. Do it with the hose and you may get more pillas off.

Afternoon all
Not had time to say helo before now I had to be at daughter no 1 house this morning at 9.30, as she had a interview at the Job centre and I had to babysit Sofia, had a lovely time playing then went for a walk in the local park , Sofia only managed to stay awake for 20mins then she was off to sleep so when I got back to the house I managed to tidy up and do the dishes for daughter before Sofia woke up. stayed and had lunch and got home at 4.00

Jane Report 20 Aug 2010 17:45

Mandy ,you better not have any butter beans.it sounds like you have a lot of wind there already lol.I don't like them.
Fiona, what kind of work is your daughter looking for?I hope she is lucky.

I just saw the chap arrive at my neighbour with his BBQ on a trailer for tomorrow.I hope this wind drops by the afternoon when the party begins.I bought Norma a lovely Orchid and nice pot,and have left it in her lounge with other presents and loads of cards. She will get such a shock when they get back of hols and find everyone there and the Barbie smelling yummy.I have put wine in the fridge which her OH asked me to do,and put the rest in the front room.
Those tomato tart things I made earlier look good.I did a couple with courgette olives and green pepper with a spreading of pesto on the pastry.
James and Hannah will have those as they don't like tomato.

Not too bad a day a Dunster Show. The sun came out for a while, which was really nice, came home mid afternoon as the rain started and then tumbled down!! The traffic was horrendous, queue's at least a mile back!need a lot of patience! Lots of interesting things to see though, so all in all, enjoyed it and glad we went! Had to take Millie to the Vet this evening, she has an itchy ear which has an infection in it! drops, and lotion to clean it with, total sum £40. 02p!!!! good thing we love her!!!

Late afternoon or early evening, to you all,
Ros just washing up. Easy dinner tonight. Liver,Onions, Mashed Pots and peas.

Haven't done much today. Just cleared up all the leaves from the apple tree in the chicken run. As I said earlier we packed away five boxs of apples. The neighbours have alol been round thanking me for the apples I left on their doorsteps yesterday.

Butter beans, I can't stand them. remember being feed them in the war, and never eaten them since.

That little pussy is a little darling. makes you want one when you see it. My old cat would not be pleased. so stayed in his old ways. He's loosing his teeth, and slobbering everywhere. Ros has covers everywhere ,the only trouble is you never know where he is going to settle down and sleep. Yesterday he was laid out on the front lawn. Looked like he was dead !!!! then he rolled over got up and came in doors. He laid on a fleece on the back of the armchair, Body and legs on chair, HEAD hanging down the back. again I though he had passed away. I thinki thats how I would like him to go. Not outside and not know where he is. He's well over 15/16 years old now. How long do they last ????

Don't you dare go Sheila !!

What will we do without your daily stories ,we loved them all from the offer of marriage when you said you'd rather marry his Camel ,to Beryls draws in your tree LOL

Maureen ,i carn't see a broken white page on my screen either !!

Annx

Annx Report 20 Aug 2010 19:25

Jane is right Sheila. The differences each brings to thread make it interesting and it would be boring if we were all out of the same mould. Don't think the worst if there is no comment about one of your posts......it happens to us all on here at times, it can just mean no-one commented, not that no-one enjoyed it!!

Jane, those tart things sound nice and tasty......I might try some to go with some salad. Your neighbours will be surprised how busy you have been. I have to be in the mood for butter beans but OH likes them.

Frank, your old puss is doing well, sounds like he is very content. There is an old cat opposite MIL's called Winston. They say he is 20 and he is coloured like Sylvester but a bit moth eaten now. Often when we go over he is sitting in the middle of the road!! He is a bit deaf and stiff but manages to jump up on the bonnet of FIL's car and sunbathe on the warm engine.

Jane

Jane Report 20 Aug 2010 19:44

Frank ,I have heard of cats living until about 20.(even more).I would love to have a cat again.I think I love them better than dogs.(don't tell Chester)He would be most put out lol
Elizabeth,I hope Millies ear clears soon.Does she keep shaking her head?
I think I am going to have to take Chester back to the the V.E.T .(Shhh) about his poor itchy bottom.I won't go into details but it is bothering him .I just need it checked out again. It's not cheap is it going to the V E T.
Ann ,James gave me the thumbs up for the tart thing with the olives etc.OH and I will have the tomato ones in a bit.

Hi I am back was not going for ever and honestly just said that about the poem because it did not get a good reaction from the teacher either it was a joke. I do find it hard when its all gardening and things cannot even get out in mine too wet. Sorry if I misled you honestly not having a gripe. like I said the classmates liked that poem but the teacher made the comment after we prefere the original of three bears Sheila please.

I did some shop and asked my daughter to do the rest when some old guy came in and was chewing a toffee
and said to me this toffee is stuck to my teeth and proceeded to take his teeth out to the amusement of two other customers wiped them on his hanky and put them back in his mouth. He said thats better. give us a carrier bag love. my mouth just fell open. When he had gone
the women behind said dirty git and I started laughing and had to come out. it was not a pretty site. I left you a e mail
Ann like your photo said you look like Maureen Lipman
do you know who she is. !!!! I adored the cat Alfie is so sweet.

It was a joke i just did not have anything to comment on about gardening or much else. .Sophia is back in the charity shop put the open notice back to front and it said closed on the shop door. I tried the door when passing
and popped in and said oh your open and she said yes why you ask i said because it says shut on the door. She said Oh my god I do not have one single customer for two days. I said well I wont tell Bill just reverse it Sophia to open
Then noticed in the window a notice nice dumpy .puff for sale £8 she meant one of those poof things we used to have
