Had to make a decision. I am trying to tidy my 'office/craftroom'. Now birthday girls has been going a while the stack of cards has got too high so i hope nobody will take offence at me getting rid of some of the older ones. Some I have kept as a 'pattern' for my guidance but sadly some have to go, so what I am doing is dismantling them and keeping some of the embellishments for my scrap book and future card making use. I hope nobody minds.

I have also had to get rid of a pile of FH magazines and another pile of card making magazines. sad isn't it, I need an expanding house.

Hallo all,
Well silly ol'me has just typed a text and then wiped it out. I'm so good at doing that lately.
Johan had a meeting at his club so once again I was able to enjoy some peace and quiet. I have put in a large order at the groceries store on internet and they will deliver on Wednesday next.
Johan went to his Veteran Club - sounds so old to me! I'm not really interested in going - prefer the peace and quiet.
Johan is out again tomorrow but has promised to get me some money and odds and ends of shopping before he goes.
My house will be too tidy soon if Johan keeps going out.
Jo, hope your husband is getting better quick.
Love to you all, what would I do without you?

Good morning to you all from a grey and dismal looking Maine et Loire.
I have a class this afternoon so can shut myself away and have fun but first need to tidy the room up so we can mess it up again :))

Ann, I have been collecting cards from groups for over five years and have started to take bits off some of the earlier ones, like you; I keep unusual and different ones but I was getting to the stage where I had a huge box filled with birthday and Christmas. The embellishments are useful for my crafters so at least things get reused.
Hope you all have a good weekend

xx Jill

Glad I am not the only one Jill, at least we recycle the bits. Yes, I keep the unusual ones. Happy crafting this afternoon then.

Must admit I recycle all the cards I receive except the hand made ones. I use the backs of cards that are plain white to make my iris folding blanks and also for stitching, coloured card if enough cut into mats for layering, saves me having to cut up my best card stock. Like you both I am finding difficulty finding places to keep all the hand made cards, they are in boxes in the wardrobe in the children's bedroom and some in hubbys office - then there is all the ATC's 7 of those every month for at least 2yrs, could use them all as card toppers!!!

Weather here damp and miserable - rained most of the night and is very dark and overcast this morning.

Off now to make a 75th birthday card, new baby card for my new great nephew and 6 others have lots of birthdays in February, plus a new grandchild due March, just hope it's not early.

Sylvia, with Johan going out every day you have lots of time for crafting!!

Have a good day everyone

Hi all,
Jo, I shouldn't bother about cleaning your windows as the view is not worth seeing at the moment, just snow. Use your time doing something useful, such as making cards!!!
Carole, don't bother about apologising for being late with cards. I hope you got my card, or did I end up with sending you two?
I am on top of the world at the moment, let's hope it stays this way. Have to see the gynaecologist tomorrow and they will do further tests.
I thought we had finished with the snow and when I woke up everything was white again.
My granddaughter popped in yesterday. She was on her way to eat with her father. She is thinking of buying her own flat or house. A lot of thinking about when you are on your own!
Have a nice evening.

Hi Sylvia, glad you are feeling good, hope all goes well with the gynaecologist. We luckily have not had any more snow and certainly don't want it. Nice to see your granddaughter but it is an expense getting a flat when you are on your own, I am sure she will take time to think about it.

Jo Jo Report 1 Feb 2010 23:16

Sylvia lovely to hear that you are feeling well at the moment, hope the feeling lasts for for a long, long time. Going to the gynecologist is something I really do not like doing, so hope it goes well for you tomorrow.
No snow for us, just lots of heavy frosts which seem to last all day, just wish they would grit the roads, nightmare to drive on at the moment.
Halfway through my cards for this month and still have the ATC's to make, although I think I know what I am doing. Think I might try some flower soft, will make a change!
Take care and keep warm all of you

No frost here today, just rain, not sure which is worse although at least it is easier to stand up on a wet surface than on ice.

Rained here all day today, really prefer the frost especially when it comes with the sunshine. The rain makes my joints ache, think it must be old age creeping on.

Hi all,
Well, at last I think we are getting somewhere in finding out just where my health problem lies. I was at the hospital from 11 oçlock until 4.00 pm. The gynaecologist was a very sympathetic young lady and we hit it off very well. I saw the pelvis physiotherapist and here again a young lady easy to talk to. I had all sorts of tests and I now have to wait while the BIG 4 get together to discuss what they are going to do with me. That will be the gynaecologist, the urologist (the one I walked out on), the pelvis physiotherapist and the surgeon who operated on me for bowel cancer. The gynaecologist looked at my record of all I have been through and said this cannot go on any longer. Hurrah. Our hospital now supplies a packed lunch if you have to stay on through the lunch hour. I could ask for what I wanted so chose a brown bread roll with cheese/lettuce, carton of milk and a tangerine. I only ordered the bread roll and the rest came with it. I ordered for Johan as well. No wonder our health service is getting expensive!
All our waiting rooms have coffee machines etc. where you can help yourself to coffee and tea. What a service.
Now these next 2 weeks will be difficult to get through
Greetings, Sylvia xxx

Sylvia thank goodness you saw such a lovely doctor that listened and understood everything you have been going through for so long now. Hopefully they will sort you out very soon, that will be lovely for you. Like Ann will keep sending positive thoughts your way.

Miserable weather here again today rain or snow on and off all day.

Take care

Evening Ladies hope you are all well and looking forward to a lovely weekend, I have my grandchildren for the weekend so will be busy but I am sure we will have great fun.

Weather has been very mixed over the last few days, frost, sun, rain and fog, not much left to get now, although we have a frost again tonight.

Good morning to you all and after a lovely Spring like day on Thursday its now grey, cold and windy.
Hope you are all keeping well and have a good weekend planned.

Yesterday was one of my craft class days and we ended up in tears of laughter as one lady couldnt work out why the glitter glue wouldnt work-- she had left top on :) We do end up having a good laugh but they were all pleased with their cards made including multi stamping with lots of different stamps to give a lovely frame to a square card then painting it. We will have a play with alcohol inks and distress inks next week to make backgrounds on acetate and gloss card.

Jill, sounds great. I sometimes think I must be dense as I get very confused with all the different stamping inks and their uses. Is there an easy way of knowing?

Has anyone else found that sometimes there seems to be residue left in a little stickles bottle but you can't get any out, despite clearing the nozzle?

AnninGlos Report 6 Feb 2010 17:53

Well I have made ten cards this afternoon. I have made five for CRUK to put in the envelopes and drop into the shop. These were all using as a base for the toppers some of the beautiful work I retrieved off birthday girls cards when I ran out of space. So they are partly down to you. The rest were for my stock and my originals.

Jill in France Report 6 Feb 2010 21:12

Ann, there are so many types of inks now and unless you want to try new stuff, it will be best to stick to pigment inks to emboss and set with a heat gun or dyes that dry fast. The memento inks are lovely and fast drying plus come in small sizes and a good price.
If you want to try doing background, the distress inks are good and try using a wet baby wipe to put ink direct to card.
