I think it's two-pound coins nowadays....that's inflation for you, I used to get a sixpence, that's 2 1/2 p in today's money. Wouldn't even buy a blackjack. lol

I'm back! Only had the top set done, he hadn't got the bottom plate, that will be done in three months.

Well it wasn't too bad, though I shook really badly while he was numbing my mouth, but the teeth came out really easily, and he took a while over fitting the dentures. He said I did really well considering how nervous I was. I said 'Did it show?' 'Only by the shaking' he said lol

Anyway, it all feels a bit strange, I'm dribbling a bit out of one corner, but my top lip is very swollen at the moment. I have a popping sensation, as if I've got space-dust inside my top lip. Never felt that before but hey! I've gagged a couple of times, but otherwise it's comfortable, and I can talk and swallow pretty well.

Hagar is moaning that I'm sucking me teeth, but I told him, my mouth is numb, I have the plate and I've got to get used to swallowing, so shut up and put up with it LOL. I can feel something sitting on my bottom lip, it's cold, and I don't know if its the teeth or my top lip. Hagar says my gob's shut for a change so it must be the top lip I can feel.

Got me steredent and polygrip, so ready to gooooo. Bacon butty at the weekend, if I dare, in crusty bread mmmmmm

Oh and they look ok too, no pink plastic at the front, the teeth meet the gums so they look more natural. I'm pleased.

Owwwwwww just done something I haven't done in years, bitten the inside of my cheek! lol.

Must remember I have teeth there now. *tsk*

Just had a cup of tea, started bleeding again, so no more tea until the feeling comes back. *tsk*.

Yes Kay, no more scrapes, how I hated having that done. Still got most of them to come out, but not for three months...but I feel please with myself

Well done Teresa, anything hot will re-start the bleeding, try a cold drink if you are thirsty. And a tip, use an old pillow tonight with an old pillow case on it in case the bleed a bit overnight and dribble (it happens!!)

When I had a tooth out a week ago I had a cup a soup and let it get cool when I was hungry.

The feeling's come back now, and I feel a bit bruised, not where he took the teeth out, where he injected me *sigh*, but it's going off and the swelling is coming down a bit.

Just had some weetabix cos I was starving! But it's like having a toffee stuck to the roof of your mouth LOL. Can't quite get the chewing yet.

Still trying to bleed a little I think, or it might be just the polygrip the dentist used oozing.

Erm, just don't try eating toffee. I have a small front plate, a new one, much smaller than the old one. I forgot and ate a toffee, it stuck and I had to let it slowly dissolve. Kept me quiet anyway as any movement dislodged the plate - memo to self do not do this when out!!!

I remember my Gran sucking toffees. She'd had false teeth since she was 22, and knew what she could and couldn't eat. But she refused to give up toffee even if it meant taking all day to suck one. LOL

I haven't eaten toffee in years because of fillings so no loss there. I look forward to being able to eat crunchy stuff again, salads, apples and peanuts, cashews and so on. And being able to eat the pepper in my chinese which is usually too crunchy for the few teeth I had left lol
