Oh you poor little possums. I am sitting here 9.45 pm. It is 31.4C or 88.5F right now. The aircon is still going, the dog panting and I only have about one glass of soda water left for my lime cordial.

I discovered what I thought was my grandfathers death record is not his unless the informant at the burial did not know where he was born, when he was born or that he had children. So it's back to the drawingboard again.

Our next holidays start at Easter. Very cunning this year. They've taken a week out of term 1 and put it into Term 2 so Easter falls in the first week of the holidays.

Do you get cravings for food when you get old. I just felt like a peanut butter and apricot jam sandwich. No I don't mean I feel like one I mean I'd like one to eat!!

Morning all, you can do lots with peanut butter. And I did eat it. My treat for that hour. Peanut butter, and apricot jam, honey, condensed milk, in stir frys, in oriental cooking, in biscuits and cakes, with celery. Almost as versatile as vegemite.

Here we go again. At 5.30 am it was 29.1C. Heading for something around 35 I think. OH has taken Spot for a longer walk in the "cool" of the morning. Hopeless to try and walk him during the day. The retriever type next door has little boots to protect his feet from the hot ground. I'd have to have hob nailed ones for Spot. Oh heavens no, I'm not even thinking about it. Spot would chew them off or bury them in his toy box with his toys.

Did I tell you about my lottery non-win.

You know how you can check your numbers and think oh blast I was only one number off on that ticket, might have won a prize.

Well

I am in a syndicate at work. On Saturday night our ticket was one number off EVERY number in the draw. Either one higher or one lower.

I have a lovely peanut butter cookie recipe. No I won't send it that would be cruel. Edit. Just had a look, nope doesn't use peanut butter, uses peanuts. Oh well I suppose the taste is the same!!

Do you ever think of the movie Meet Joe Black, when you hear peanut butter mentioned??

YG

YG Report 8 Feb 2010 20:55

You haven't seen Meet Joe Black. Brad Pitt, Anthony Hopkins. Reeeeeaaally quirky movie. I had to watch it twice to understand the ending.

Mazfromnorf

Mazfromnorf Report 8 Feb 2010 21:02

I was listening to a very interesting discussion about allergies, including peanut, this lunchtime.

Doctors at Cambridge are researching giving microscopic amounts of peanuts to sufferers and gradually increasing the amount. They appear to build up a resistance to the allergy after treatment,

Just got home after sleeping overnight in armchair (all of about an hour I think) and only having one roll to eat since yesterday lunchtime.
