Hi Rach, oh dear Eddie is getting so impatient now,he can't wait to get home but because they are so short of staff they still haven't got him up out of bed to practise his walking , lets hope they can do it tomorrow.
When l saw Ed the other day l asked him what he really fancied to eat when he got home.............a bacon toastie so as a surprise l made one wrapped it in tin foil and a tea towel so it kept nice and hot and boy did he enjoy it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a update for those interested.
When l went to visit Eddie today he was sitting in a chair, the first time for nearly 7 weeks, he had his neck and body brace on and he said with the help of a ?????? (sorry donot know the name of it) he walked to the door and back, he ate his dinner sitting in the chair and he said that was really good to do that. His pet hate since he has been bed ridden is having to go to the toilet in the bed and he asked the nurses if he could use a commode today which they agreed with well what a very happy bunny he was, lol.
Still haven't been told what day he can come home but am not pushing it, hope it is before Friday though.
When Ed was talking to one of the nurses today he told him that he was moving on Friday and guess where the male nurse is going to be living, yes next door to us, l couldn't believe , he is a lovely man and teatotal so no loud parties, lol.
Hope everyone is ok, take care, xx

Mummo,

Wonderful news!

Don't forget to take all the help you can get, aids etc, for when Eddie gets home. The hospital should be able to arrange for 'stuff' to be delivered to you.

Hello Mummo ....I'm really pleased to hear that Eddie has been claiming his body back . It is amazing that the small things in life we all take for granted ( like sitting in a chair or going to the loo ) are major triumphus to someone who has had them taken away.

I'm sure Eddie will be home with you soon : )) And how great is it that about your new neighbour.....lol........at least you don't have to fret about who is moving in nextdoor : ))

He's doing so well and I'm very pleased for you and your family. Of course you'll have to get him a little bell so you can be on call:-))

LOL -- I got my husband a little bell when he was ill once, he used it frequently when he broke his wrist a couple of years later.

It took years to stop him from using it to summon the 'Maid'!

Take you time, both of you, it will be so different and so wonderful when he is home but you will be exhausted!

Mummo, I am so pleased to catch up on Eddie's progress and hope he will soon be home again, he will come on in leaps and bounds (figuratively not physicially tho lol) and it will make life easier for you when you don't have to think about visiting hours etc.

He will have to lay off too many toasties till he gets more mobile again tho or you will end up with twice the man you had before the accident! I do hope they get things moving at the hospital so he can progress enough to be allowed out. It will be useful to have the male nurse next door should there be any queries - they might end up to be good friends as well as neighbours.

Take care of yourself now and make the most of the time left to rest yourself too, you have had a nasty shock and a lot of worry and it can take it's toll.

Lizx
