Pleased to hear that things are going OK for Eddie, when they stand him up I think he is going to feel dizzy after so long lying flat, but theyw ill take it in easy stages. Here is hoping he gets vertical soo, And I hope the nurse can do something for your Mum's pain that doesn't make her drowsy. Thinking of them both.

Hello Mummo.......I thought of your Eddie as I was putting the Christmas decs back into the loft today ( and had a bit of a wobble on the steps ) .
I'm so pleased to hear that he is getting better by the day and will soon be facing the challange of standing up .
Tell him from me please , that he can expect to get " jelly legs " when he first stands and that he will probably feel sick and light headed ( they will warn him of course and there should be a few nurses standing around in case he looks like he is going to fall over ) . The first standing up is the worst and I'm sure that once he has that behind him it won't be to long before he is home .
I wish you both and your family a good new year

Thanks again Rach, Stray and Posh, xxx
Do you know there are some lovely people in this world...........when l went up to the hospital today Ed said there was something in his drawer for me and when l looked there was a £5 note, when l asked where it came from he said that the man opposite him (George) left if for me to pay for some parking at the hospital, Eddie said we didn't want it but he insisted, oh bless him he was a really nice man even had to nag him as well, lol.
Eddie is still laying on his back and really looking forward to later in the week when hopefully they may be getting him up..........Who will start blubbering when l see him out of the bed,xx

It is good to see that Eddie is still making progress, and you will be entitled to have a blubber when he manages to get up. So many people will be watching to see that event.

The kindness of the gentleman with the £5 shows there are still good people in the world.

There are many good people in the world - we just don't say enough about them.

Things are looking good, Mummo. Make sure you let us know when Eddie gets up for the first time and we can all have a blubber with you:-))

Mummo, I am glad to hear that Eddie is still doing well.
Have you asked about the parking because most of the hospitals here have a limit on how much you are expected to spend. After that, you get a free ticket. they don't publicise it though. It would be worth asking

Can I second what Linda in Herriot Country says about parking fees? If you haven't already done so, enquire about a weekly pass as well.

Glad your OH is making progress. I'm sure many lurkers (like me) send their silent good wishes and check for the updates.

Yes l did ask about the parking as when he was in Intesive Care l used to get a pass so l only had to pay £1.20 a day but when he left there and went to a ward l was told they do not issue any . It does work out expensive l'm paying between £30 and £40 per week, but there is nothing l can do about it except moan, lol.
