Currently I'm going mad for Whispa Golds, but my alltime fave has to be Cadburys Turkish Delight. Love rhubarb and custard boiled sweets but my fave boiled sweet was Spangles, wish they would bring those back.

Rocky Thompsons sweet stall on Hunstanton fair ground has he best liquorice cuttings, and the lady always gives you a couple of peices to eat while you wait for her to weigh them out, and she always tels me theyare good for your blood.
I have half a pound every week

Has anybody tried salted liquorice? Somewhere in Europe it is the thing they give their children all the time,Holland maybe.

I love it.

Annx, don't worry about this being a fattening thread it will not bother me.... I don't need anymore fattening, a few sweets will not ruin my figure. A good diet might though!

HUMBUGS....... but I cannot remember when last I had one.
My SIL doesn't eat ANYTHING SWEET!!
Weird woman.... and I am not talking behind her back, she knows my opinion, and that I love her.

Remember the red torpedo's we used to use as lipstick when we were little girls?

Oh Annx I love Thorntons chocolates too, the problem I have is that Thorntons is in my local bookshop, so when I go to buy a book, I end up buying chocolates aswell, and I love their Rum Truffles.

When I was a little girl (about 5 years ago) I loved chocolate buttons with hundreds and thousands on, when you could buy them in quarters in W...worths, ok maybe a bit longer than 5 years ago.
The worst I've ever tasted was real turkish delight from, you guessed it, Turkey, it's absolutely foul.

Keith, is this thread your subtle way of finding out what we all like so you can go out and buy us all a Christmas present?

Anybody ever heard of TROACH DROPS? They were my grans favourite in Birmingham and I remember them from when I was little.
I think they must be a local Brummie things as I have never found them anywhere else.
cheers,
Jill
