Hi~~
Good morning all:))
It's a bit grey here today:(
I've been on the phone since 9 am to the Estate Agent ( he's an ex solicitor and a real gent, he lives in the village where I lived as a child and where dad's house is up for sale with him ) and then our Solicitor a bit later.
We've accepted the offer on the family house It will be sad to see it go, but needs must, being empty and cold it is deteriorating despite being renovated by hubby.

bit of a wrench for you having to let the house go $andie.Hopefully the new owners will take care of it and be happy there. Got Ava overnight again as Richard is working in Sheffield this week and Emma doesn't finish till late on a thursday. She was asleep within minutes. Hope I sleep tonight as last night was up being sick and had diarrhoea but was fine this morning so perhaps it was the lamb koftas I ate for my evening meal as they were spicy and greasy.

we had quite a heavy downpour earlier but then the sun came out again. Sunderland had a short burst of hailstones apparently.

Hi all~ Hope you're feeling better Paula, never tried lamb koftas but lamb it's self can be greasy I used to love lamb but can only eat chops now, opposite with pork I only enjoy a lean piece on loin .. no other cut and don't like pork chops.
Yes it is going to be wrench when the family home eventually goes.
Today would have been dad's 97th birthday so I went down as I often do to dust and polish. We have left the open the old black lead fire grate as a feature in the kitchen and we do get dust and small stones down from it, I hope we haven't got bird nesting in there ! I felt OK tho going down there, was more miffed that neighbours were parked across our parking area! I was going to complain to the person concerned but I thought better off it and not to muddy the waters for our buyers, they can raise the issue with them .
Also it is the 12th anniversary of my stepfather in laws death, he was marvellous with my children, as I went back to work when they were young and he and my mother in law looked after them. They adored each other and it was a great shock to all of us when he died, he felt ill in the morning, went into hosp and died with a massive heart attack being transferred from A&E to a hosp ward within hours. My children were 11 and 10 a bit young to realise that he was there one day and gone the next. I picked them up from school which their nan usually did and took them to see her straight away ,which was a comfort to her and some sort of normality for them. They doted on nan even more after that:)
That's life I suppose,I was 5 when my maternal gramp died, and I remember the people coming back to his house after the funeral and me attempting to run home.. about 100 yds (got spooked I suppose) but his next door neighbour caught me and took me back. Funny how you remember these things. Enough of my rambling Memories I will never forget.:)

its hard to understand death when you are so young.........not easy when you are older come to that. Been quiet today.Did some shopping this morning and cleaned the bedrooms and bathroom this afternoon.Did wash Gary's work clothes and a couple of pairs of my jeans .I put them on the radiators because it was spitting on a bit this morning but it didn't rain any more so I suppose I could have put them on the line,..never mind lol

Hi all~~ Yes Maz death is very hard to cope with, especially when it very close relatives. But I do have some wonderful memories of mam, dad and the family home. Dad died 6 yrs ago and we've been back and fro the house , hubby totally renovated it. Such a shame dad wouldn't let him do it when he was alive:(( My only regret now is that that the house will be no longer be mine to go go into and relive my childhood memories, but they will always be in my head and heart. Nothing will remove that :) Sorry to sound so negative on the Sabbath, my gramps was a Baptist minister and their whole family went to chapel 3 times on Sunday ,a mile uphill a walk away.My aunt who is 90 remembers it well:).. even my uncles used to to go..they had respect that they were taught. love you and leave you now Sandie,x

Hi~~ Bit emotional as hubby cleared out the attic in my dad's house, as the contracts are about to be exchanged. There are actually 2 attics, never been up in this one he checked yesterday , had loads of my toys , in particular 2 knitted bunnies my aunt made made for my sister and I. I say my aunt .. no relation, she and hubby were my dad and mam's best friends. But she was more than an aunt to me, I used to stay with her in Tewkesbury every summer and they used to holiday with use in west Wales most yrs Been glorious here all day.
