Helen1959 Report 18 Sep 2009 22:09

Well my Faves tonight were, Chris Hollins & Ola Jordan, Ali Bastian & Brian Fortuna and Ricky Groves & Erin Boag, Had to laugh at Lynda and Darren, and felt that Joe was very wooden and felt sorry for Kristina.

I love Strictly and it beats x factor every time for me. I had just put the children to bed and switched tv over had no idea it was on tonight. So.... called daughter downstairs for a treat and sat and watched it together.Brilliant.

Hi Brummie Helen - great mins think alike - I agree totally with your selection of the three you enjoyed the most. I too thought they were the best. I was a trifle disappointed with Joe - for some rason I thought he would be better than he was. Will be glued to the set again tonight even though I'm feeling lousy - bunged up to the eye-balls with cold !!........ an it's not winter yet !

dutch, sorry to hear that you won't be able to watch the show live. Can you get the BBc i player on your computer? If so then you can either download the programme onto your computer via this link,

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00mvgdh/Strictly_Come_Dancing_Series_7_Week_1_Show_1/

or if you don't want to download it, you can watch the highlights of each dance on the Strictly Come Dancing website on the following page.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/strictlycomedancing/

hope this helps you.

Looks like we have another John Sargeant situation, I thought Jo should have gone out before Martina.

Helen1959

Helen1959 Report 19 Sep 2009 21:26

Well I was gutted with tonight's result, I thought that Martina and Ian were the better 2 dancers in the dance off.
I honestly thought it was going to be Joe and Lynda that were going to be in the bottom 2.

I enjoyed Ali and Brian and Ricky and Erin's routines, but absolutely adored Chris and Ola's dance, they really put their heart and souls into the routine and sold us the story.

Well hopefully I may get to see Friday's show as there are tv's in the rooms at the B&B we are staying in. We are due back in Ashford at 8.30 so lets hope the train isn't delayed, if not then it will be a rush to watch the 1st show on Saturday when we get home, before the 2nd one starts.

probably won't be back on here till the Sunday, so take care and

Keep Dancing.

love

So did none of you watch last night's show? LOL

I put my comments before your Helen. I am not sure that Alesha made much of an impact and I hope that she and Bruno are not going to keep up the touchy feely routine all the time. I missed Arlenes ascerbic comments, it is not the same. However maybe it will grow on me.

Margaret Report 21 Sep 2009 18:38

Yes I did watch the Saturday show and personally would have thought the dance-off would be between Joe & partner plus Linda and partner or Rav and partner.. As it was, Martina and Rav, I would have saved Martina as I thought she performed better both in the main show and the dance-off. Alesha didn't particularly impress me but neither did I find her 'useless' as is being portrayed in the national press. Arlene, although she irritated me to death sometimes, is far better equipped to make constructive comments in order to help the contestants.

Well I didn't get to see the show this week as we were held up in France on Friday night so didn't get to the B&B till 10pm and Saturday night, I was so tired I had fell asleep on the sofa by 7pm and they left me there to catch up and i didn't wake till nearly 10pm. so haven't had chance to look at the dances yet. I do know that Richard Dunwoody left though. Looking to hear your views of the show though.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 28 Sep 2009 21:27

I didn't think there was anything spectacular this week, no surprises and some of the females costumes if they get any smaller will be non existant.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 28 Sep 2009 21:28

Helen, did you enjoy your Paris weekend?

Margaret

Margaret Report 1 Oct 2009 17:27

I'm still waiting for that excited 'buzz' to kick in, but as yet nothing. Perhaps things will improve now that this week we are into the competition proper. Think Ricky Whittle and Ali Bastian will do really well but am secretly cheering on Chris Hollins with his 'cheeky chappie' pleasant face. I would expect him to survive several rounds unless he finds the more complex routines too much ie the fast Latin ones. Roll on Saturday and we'll see.

I have been watching (most of) Strictly. I have enjoyed it so far but haven't got a firm favourite yet.
I loved watching Richard Dunwoody, so so far out of his comfort zone but so eager to work hard and give his all.
He seemed so nice, no ego getting in the way and good to watch. So I was rather sorry that he left so quickly.

I have been watching (as usual) Take Two it is great fun, watching some of the contestants trying to learn the steps. Looks as if it could be a really good evenings viewing on Saturday.

Will be glued to the t.v. unless I fall asleep!
