My cousins neighbour saw him this afternoon and this is her report:o)))

R was sitting in a chair, one of those that can move about, he has physio 2 or 3 times a day, she could understand everything he said and he understood her:o)) A Dr came over and asked who she was and then told her that he had finally" turned the corner", they don't intend operating agaim he just needs loads and loads of time etc to get better. The last 24hrs had been the turning point.
He's still wired to all sorts of monitors, stitches still healing etc
Well how about that, he must be a tough and determined man:o)))

Thought you would like to know that l have just had a phone call from my cousin:o))) he still has a tube in his throat so it was difficult to talk and wires everywhere, he was very emotional too.....so good to talk to him though:o))))

Oh Jude I'm sure that was a lovely surprise to hear his voice on the phone.
I sincerely hope that he will he will improve a bit each day, and that he will be back to his old self before too long. Please give him my get well wishes when you speak to him. Hope his son is feeling less worried about his dad, and that he is alright.

Jude, some people cannot handle illness in their parents. Glad to hear your cousin is improving.

Jean....l know, you are right.especially as he lost his mum a yr ago, l should be more tolerant, but his dad so often feels let down, the boys don't help him much....but all that is really another issue and l won't bring it up again!!

You are always very wise and sensible:o))
