I JUST KNEW YOU'D BE LURKING THERE SOMEWHERE,
But you'll never keep up........

How are you? was it cold in the market?

It was quite a pleasant morning, but the temperature is falling now. We are going to a friends farm for a bonfire and get together, so that should be pleasant, if rather muddy.

Are you any better today?

ps, I don't lurk and I bet that I can outrun you

Have you baked any bread yet? there is a lovely smell of almost baked bread wafting through the house here

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 7 Nov 2009 16:03

Your evening sounds good fun, hope you have a nice time with friends.

The weather's been horrible here, we had a hailstorm this afternoon, and it's quite cold too.

I am better thankyou, at least managed to get out today, though sat like an old man (no comments please) while OH went into shop. It would be good if I could shift this annoying headache though.

Supposed to be doing my tree, but can't concentrate. These ancestors didn't think of us doing this did they?

No, I haven't used the bread maker yet. Was hoping to get to Tesco for ingredients, but no having been out, it didn't happen.
Hopefully one day next week.

I can smell that delicious bread from here - a nice thick slice with black current jam would be very nice thankyou

I did some tree this afternoon, but it was a bit of an obscure branch. I was just doing it to send the results to someone in Oz.

The parts of the tree which I really want to do involve a trip to the records office in Huddersfield, which is easily do able in a day. I must get myself sorted out and go again.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 7 Nov 2009 16:08

I shall send it down the jam is home made as well of course

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 7 Nov 2009 16:15

I guessed it wouldn't be shop jam.

I've made a very useful contact through another site, who has information regarding my mothers elusive family.

When she died, I thought there weren't any more of her family left, but turns out there's quite a few out there coming from different lines.

Had details of a substantial farm they owned until about 1925, now a B&B, looks quite impressive, would love to go there.

Will e-mail it to you for a peek

I do lots of bookings for b&b's in the tourist office,so I will look at it and let you know if I think that you should go.

Pity you can't find some obscure will which shows that it is really yours

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 7 Nov 2009 16:34

I've always felt that I belonged in a house like that,
it's so obviously in the genes,

Tec

LindainHerriotCountry Report 7 Nov 2009 16:34

That looks really interesting Tec and the tariffs for the B&B are very cheap considering the type of house.

I will definitely be cook there when you get it back

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 7 Nov 2009 16:38

If only I could persuade OH to go that far, would have to go for a few days, then I could do some local research, all the ancestors are in that area.
Oh well

Interesting house though isn't it, my Gt Gt Grandfather owned it,

Edward Watts 1825, then passed down, but not to me unfortunately

I just went to get the bread out, it smells lovely, but that is for tomorrow and the traditional bacon sarnies for Sunday breakfast.

There will be food at the bonfire tonight, but we are going to have some soup and chunks of home made sundried tomato bread before we go.

I meant to say to Berona (I think it was) that the stick blender is ideal for soup because you can do it in the pan, but also you can blend it until it is thick, but leave some of the lumps of veg whole, if it is that type of soup of course. The stick blender I use is one of the ones with the powerful motors, not the thin little things for mixing drinks.

Anyway I had better wander off and do some chores before we have to go out.

I shall check on you later on as I don't think we will be out late,so no escaping with Allan. He can't get far any way as we have him on one of those dog leads now.

Don't get too cold,

Speak to you later, I'll find Allan, and let him loose,

Bye,

Message for Tec, six all at half time, I am well impressed

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 7 Nov 2009 19:27

Glad you were impressed at half time, because it went pear shaped in the second half. Final score Wales 12 - All Blacks 19. But quite respectable everything considered. Now 57 yrs since we won.............

England didn't do any better, England 9 - Australia 18

So I expect we will take some stick from the Antipodes

Never mind - we live to fight another day.
