North Yorkshire is indeed a lovely area of the country, (I have pm'd you my exact location). The whole of Yorkshire is indeed God's own county. My OH was so proud of his Yorkshire roots, he was horrified when I did his tree and discovered that his ancestors all came from down south, Berkshire to be exact, I don't think he has ever gotten over the shock |

I can understand that Linda. My mum thought she was a West Yorkshire girl through and through and was so proud of it. I discovered that her maternal line was from Devon and her grandmother was born in London. We went to the village where her great grandmother was born and she felt no connection at all. I did but I think that doing the family research gives you that connection. |
