My OH is watching "The Shining" and whilst I like Jack Nicholson, I do not like this movie.
Allan is about on the other thread so he might be here shortly or could be slowly his animal was Sloth.
Sue you are everywhere - even on threads that I cannot make head nor tail of - who is Andrew?

Andrew is an alias of a known troublemaker with a long history:-)) On one of the other threads I'm sticking up for my friend and distant rellie Uggers. Someone doing a bit of stirring I'm afraid. I try to stay away but I find myself being drawn in at times.
Hi, Allan. I'm afraid I'm off just as you've arrived. Sorry:-))
Probably won't be on in the morning except to say good-morning. So please enjoy the rest of the weekend. Love to you all.

I'M FINE THANK YOU.
There's nothing the matter with me, I'm as healthy as I can be. I have arthritis in both my knees And when I talk, I talk with a wheeze. Sleep is denied me night after night, But every morning I find I'm alright. My memory is failing, My heads in a spin, But I'm awfully well for the shape that I'm in.
How do I know my youth is all spent? Well, my 'Get up and go' has got up and went. But I really don't mind when I think with a grin, Of all the grand places my ' Get up' has bin.
'Old age is golden' I've heard it said, But sometimes I wonder as I get into bed, With my ears in the drawer, my teeth in a cup, My eyes on the table until I wake up. "Ere sleep overtakes me, I say to myself, "Is there anything else I could lay on the shelf?"
When I was young my slippers were red, I could kick my heels over my head. When I was older my slippers were blue, But I could still dance the whole night through. Now I am old my slippers are black, I walk to the store and puff my way back.
I get up each morning and dust off my wits, And pick up the paper and read the "Obits". If my name is still missing I know I'm not dead. So I have a good breakfast - and face what's ahead.
Tec.

Oh dear no Brits on here whilst I was asleep, located thread well down on page 3. I only dropped in to apologise to Diane and Alison as I left them off the list when I was trying to recomember (as my dad would say) all the names. Their names came into my brain just as I drifted off in the land of nod. So Sue we do need a roll call - all lined up in purple with red hats but not sure if Allan should wear his green wellies.
Love the poetry Tec, indeed where did you find it?
I am waiting for himself to perform his ablutions before we dodder off to Hamilton to my friend's (we were two red heads in our high school classes together) for Lunch.
Bye Norma

Morning, evening everyone, I wne tin to town to see if I could go to the pictures. None of the films took my fancy so I came home again! I didn't get that many trick or treaters. I didn't answer the door!
A red hat would be ideal for me because i wore a red beter in the winter when it's cold! Pat x

Hi Allan, I like what you said about growing old and growing up. I think some of my work friends are grown up. Sometimes I think they should grow down. That's what working in an Accountant's office does for you.

Good evening/morning everyone! Looks like I've missed out on some interesting reading again! However, I can guess a lot of it. Same old, same old - same old stirrers. I wondered if someone had been having a 'break' when I hadn't seen posts lately - but it seems they were waiting in wings, ready to stir the right people at the right time.
Looks like a lovely day here to-day - probably a hot one. I hope everyone is well.
Tec - I like your poem. It reads like you must have been thinking of me when you were writing it!

Good morning Berona
Pat, Ive worked with a couple of accountants...the first could have been arole model from which most of the others were cloned. If he ever had a sense of humour it must have been extracted at birth. He could wear any colour clothing because he was so neutral.
The other (whose 40th birthday is today) fantastic sense of humour, nothing too much trouble and if you needed any item which wasn't speciffically in the Budget, he'd do a bit of 'tweeking' and say book it to this code
Berona, I've just been over some of the Threads on Chat. Why oh why do people respond when they know that they are being wound up?

Hello Pat and Allan. Allan, I think they are a particular group of people who love a barney. Each one of them writes simple, friendly stuff to each other, but they are all waiting for just ONE person to post, and they all pounce!
It has been extremely quiet lately and I noticed a particular person missing - but as soon as they appeared - POUNCE!! Not that they didn't know that, of course. It livens the place up a bit as far as they are concerned. I often feel like posting on it - but I like to post and walk away, and I don't think the others would like that. When people are spoiling for a fight, they don't like others to walk away from them.

Good Morning/Evening Everyone,
I REFUSE TO EVER GROW UP............................
Gosh it's cold out there tonight, just taken my dog for a walk around the village - a few ghosts, witches, and ghouls out there, nothing changes.
The poem is rather good isn't it? I found it amonst my mothers things when I cleared her house - she kept all kinds of things in a little book. So no Berona, it bears no resemblance to you.

Berona, very wise.
Tp paraphrase an old saying " (s)he who posts and runs away, lives to post another day"
I've actually been on a Thread with Mel and it was a perfectly normal type post, no name calling or protracted slanging matches
