Goodnight Tec. See you again. Sleep well.

I think I will do some reading. Might take my mind off the weather - it's making me really grouchy!

Goodnight, Tec - sleep tight. I know where that saying comes from - you probably do too.

Sitting inside and reading a book sounds good, Berona. Enjoy your day and stay warm and dry:-))

Good Morning/Evening Everyone

Nite to those that have gone to bed, sleep well.

One week of the holidays has gone and have caught up with alot around the house and caught up with friends for a coffee...So difficult to juggle everything but I get there!!
All a bit tired today as we went to a 50th Birthday last night so we are all taking it easy ( the gardening can wait).
Berona...sounds like a good idea to me about the book...I am a member of every book club there is I think and cant stop buying them...problem is I never make time to read any of them..!!

Have a lovely Sunday Everyone....

xx

Good afternoon Aussies

Thanks for your lovely poem Sue, you should take a look at that site I mentioned previously its interesting:-))
Also thanks for your advise on the tips board, if you have any more please post them:-)))

I went to the movies last night...saw a chick flick, (500 days of) not too bad.
This daylight savings has already had an effect on my body clock, I'll be right in about a week I think.
My children are back at School tomorrow, the 2 weeks have really flown by, can you believe its only about 11 weeks to Christmas!!! (sorry)

Enjoy the rest of your day/Hope our Brits are sleeping peacefully:-))

Glad to know someone else buys books like I do, Janet. I am a member of a book club which sends me a catalogue every three weeks and I buy two books at a time (to save on postage - ?) every month, even though I only need to buy 6 per year as per the conditions, and on top of that I also buy books by mail from another catalogue - and my daughter buys books for me when she sees one she thinks I will like. I now have a stack of them in my bedside cabinet waiting to be read.

Added to that, I read the two books nominated by the Greaders here on General Topics - so I'm never short of reading matter - and the charities do well out of me when I have a clean-up!

Hi everyone..

Hope you all have enjoyed your Sunday...Strange day here weather wise started off quite nice and sunny but has now clouded over and looks like rain...just in time for sons football game tomorrow.

Berona....the funny thing is a child I hated reading and my mum and sister would spend the whole weekend reading and I would wander around with nothing to do.. My kids are like that now and I love to read its just finding the time and then when I do I usually nod off !! When i have a clear out I sometimes take them to a second hand bookshop close by and get a credit for the next books. Or pass them on to Mum who then passes them on for reading within her retirement village.

Carole...11 weeks until Xmas!! Always think about starting the present buying but somehow never get around to it usually the last week for me for the shopping which is really terrible because I don't like crowds and tend to panic buy.

OK - where is everyone? No excuses please.
It's a public holiday here in NSW and the second day of our daylight saving - so I'm still wondering how I happened to get up an hour earlier than usual instead of an hour later?

I have had a very peaceful weekend, a wet one, and good for curling up with a book - but now I have a feeling that the visitors are all going to come at once! I'd better go and get a few things out of the freezer!

Good morning, Berona. I've been up for 1/2 hour. Still grey and miserable here. We were going to go up to Bowral and see the how the tulips fared in the dust storm and wind but it wouldn't be very pleasant in this weather.

We've also had a very quiet weekend although yesterday afternoon my daughter turned up with 3 grumpy tired children. They had been to a birthday party nearby. I have to be honest and say that, as much as I'm always happy to see them, I really wasn't in the mood. OH was planning to do dinner and I really just wanted to do nothing.

Good Morning Berona, and Sue,

In contrast to yesterday, it was a beautiful warm sunny autumnal day here. The wind has dropped. Just the day to work in the garden I thought. So what did I do? - walked about out there, turned around, and went back indoors. I did manage to find the energy to take the dog for a walk. Then did some genealogy - not very successfully I might add.
This evening it is quite chilly, clear sky, full moon, so I've put the heating on.
Hope you are fighting fit this morning.

Hello, Tec. Sounds like a lovely day. We all start with good intentions. OH thought yesterday was a good day to clear out some rubbish from the garage. He came inside after 1/2 hour and said all he seemed to do was move things around. There are a few things I really should be doing but can't put my mind to it at the moment.

I have been honoured by my daughter because she has allowed me to have my internet connection back for a few minutes. She came up yesterday and is going to work from here tomorrow, before the funeral on Tuesday. Being young, she can't exist without the internet,so immediately unplugs my computer. I am going to buy a wireless router,so we can both be on at the same time.

We have just been copying lots of photos of mum from my computer onto a digital photo frame,so I can take it to mums house on the day of the funeral so the rellies can see all the photos. I was trying to copy the folder onto the memory card in my camera, because I can connect that to the TV,so the photos will be bigger, but it won't play,so I have given upon that and the photo frame will have to do,

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 4 Oct 2009 22:18

That's funny Linda. I was looking at a digital picture frame yesterday. It was a good price but I'm wondering if I'd actually use it very often. It must be strange having family staying at your mum's place. Are you staying too or are you at home?

Sue xx

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 4 Oct 2009 22:28

It is just my sisters family who will be staying at mums because they need to come up the night before. I will just be here at home. My sister is a bit weird about being in the house when mum is not there,so is my brother, but I am used to it.
I would be in the house alone every week doing her housework while she was at the hairdressers and whenever she was in hospital i would spend a lot of time there on my own in between the afternoon and evening visiting sessions,so it doesn't seem strange to me.
I have been there a lot during the last week getting everything ship shape again and it hasn't bothered me at all.
edit,
Being in the house alone I mean, not her not being able to be there

Good Evening Linda,
Glad you managed to wrestle your internet back off your daughter, I know the feeling very well when my grand daughter visits.
I am so impressed with your knowledge of gadgets. I cannot do any of those things - you are obviously superior to me in the brain dept.
That's the trouble with you bright young things.

Tec

LindainHerriotCountry Report 4 Oct 2009 22:32

I am sure that I am not in anyway superior to you in the brain dept Tec, not that I am that young either. It is just that I had to use computers at work and I have become reasonably adept

You spoke too soon and she wants the connection back,so off I go like a dutiful mother

Good night everyone

I do hope hope she hasn't fallen head first into the freezer, that's where she was going.
Maybe she is expecting a whole bus load of visitors?

Practicing? the Pase-Doble I expect - with a duster
