Hello, everyone. Re Colin's post - I'm often amazed at how generous people are. Allan's right the good far outweigh the bad - unfortunately we always hear about the bad. |

Perse: I know where Spike got that description from. His Mum used to live here at Woy Woy, on the NSW Central Coast and he stayed with her often. |

Hi Allan, thanks for the comment about -up. Perhaps it only applies to a language group in the Perth region. Here, warra- and -gong seem common. As for woiwoi, I suggest that the clue is the doubling of a word indicates an intensifier. It works if woi means water. Lots of water at Woy Woy. Also Wagga- crow, Wagga Wagga (place of) many crows. I haven't got to the bottom of Tumbi Umbi, Kangy Angy or Woolloomooloo. My favorite names are Upper Ferntree Gully near Melbourne and Pitt Town Bottoms, in the Hawkesbury district where my ancestors lived for generations. |

Tec - I just knew we had reason to be concerned. What an experience!!! Hope all is well now and that the Duchess is being somewhat more sympathetic. If not - then you know you can always come here and we'll believe anything you tell us:-)))) |

Hi, Tec - I thought as much. I do hope the Duchess is feeling much better - a good night's sleep works wonders. |

Not yet Tec - as you say early days. I have to tell you I've received a lot of ribbing because I was seen on the telly:-)) I also had my photo in the paper. I think it's gone to my head:-) |
