Instead of which you are sending me to bed in a state of hysteria.

G'day,

Allan - thank you for the offer of some of your hair! I only need a little bit!

Now, I know why Berona drives - she had an "experience" with a horse once!

SueMaid - the Cancer Council where I live, has just opened an accommodation facility for out-of-towners who have to come in to the city for treatment. It's long been needed. Keep up the good work, SueMaid!

I've been in contact with a fellow who has a cemetery photo website and I've finally convinced him that he's put a reference to 9 Cub Scouts who drowned in 1943, in the wrong cemetery. He was adamant that he was right, but I visited the cemeteries last year and photographed my reles graves and one landmark was this row of Cub Scouts graves. I was sure that I was right, I hoped I hadn't *lost the plot.* (ha ha ha)

I had better go. Have an appointment. Looks like the dishes don't get done again. I wouldn't get a job in Tec's house - only if there was an opening for the position of village idiot.

A River Me Derchy!!

Allan, I appreciate your love of the tartan - but you don't know much about knitting, do you? The weaving of the tartan cloth is an art! Ask any Scot!
I'm sure you'll love the orange/emerald/black/canary stripes just as much and if you keep it on your head, YOU won't see that it's not tartan - so you can use your imagination!.....Must hurry and get it going so that I can start on Tec's nightcap (with bobble, of course). I can see him wearing it - he should look just like Wee Willie Winkie....and I'll be so proud!

Colin - would you like me to knit something for you too? I wouldn't want you to feel left out.

Allan

Allan Report 16 Sep 2009 13:46

Good evening Berona,

please don't forget that my head is in my hands so that I can not actually see what i am wearing....i am now totally confused!

I'll go with the stripes!

I have just popped home for a couple of hours while my sister holds the fort,so am looking in with a quick update.

Yesterday was a bad day because yesterday morning, they were telling me that they thought mum wouldn't last the day out. My sister arrived post haste and my brother played golf all day!! Don't ask.

Any way mum is a tough old thing and she is still soldiering on, she rallied a bit yesterday evening and her blood infection levels are down a bit. Her kidneys are just about working, in fact this morning, they were a little bit better. She was complaining about the nursing staff this morning (totally unjustified I am pleased to say). They are continuing to give her the antibiotics, but are still very much in the letting nature take it's course stage. Who knows, she may surprise us all, but probably not. She is not in pain and is not distressed, she is still perfectly lucid, well most of the time.

That is more than I am, it has taken me ages to correct all my typing mistakes. I am shattered, this sitting by the bed and worrying lark takes it out of you. I feel like getting in next to her as she spends her time dozing.

I was talking to my sister this morning and we were saying how lucky we are to have had our parents for so long. Dad was 88 when he died, the same age as mum is now.

Thank you for your concern

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 16 Sep 2009 19:24

Hello Linda,
Thank you so much for taking time to let us know how things are. We have all been thinking of you. Your dear mum is obviously a fighter. As you say, it is so tiring just sitting by the hospital bed in those circumstances. I sat with my mother for a week, slept in the chair, and ate in the hospital canteen, popping to my mums house for a shower and change of clothes. In retrospect that was a silly thing to do, and I ended up physically, and mentally shredded. The thing was that the nursing care was appalling, and I had to do a lot for her myself. I hope so much that they are still doing all they can to make your mother as comfortable as she can be.
Do take care of yourself, and do try to get family to share their time.

If you have read the last few days posts, you may wonder which of us is ready for the funny farm first. Odds on it will be Allan.
We will all be thinking of you - Bye for now,

Tec.

Good Morning/Evening Everyone,

I told you Colin sounded tall. I don't remember if Minnie was Grypipe Thynne, maybe Allan will know.
Anyone under a certain age reading this will be totally confused.
Alison , welcome aboard as the Guide, maybe you can show me around sometime.
Berona, How is my night cap coming on - Wee Willie Winkie???
Carole, Montgomery's saddled up for you - just hold on tight.
Sue, I hope you are much better, bright eyed, and bushy tailed today.
Allan, Are you back from Harvey - is there a big white rabbit there?

Today was a glorious day here, sunny, warm, a gentle breeze. I noticed the leaves are changing colour, and some are beginning to fall. Mrs Tec and I went for a drive to Conwy up on the North coast. Walked over the bridge towards the castle, and had lunch in a pub. Nice day.

Regards
Tec.

Good whatever part of the day it is where you are.

Linda, thanks for posting the update on your mum. It is nice to have your parents for so long. My own mum was just 11 days past her 55th birthday when she died, and my dad was 68. I would have liked them to be around longer but it's in the lap of the Gods. you and your family are in our thoughts

Tec, I can only remember the main Goon characters. As for the big white rabbit, no: however in the Town site of Brunswick there is a big black and white cow as a tribute to the dairy industry. I feel sorry for it in winter as it must be Friesian!!

I'm looking forward to a little R & r at the funny farm
