Good morning all, a very damp grey one here so no gardening today. have to go and try and make a dentist appointment as I have a troublesome tooth, ugh, fancy having to go there voluntarily.

BC, sorry about Hayley and TW, hope you have got rid of all the feathers in your mouth now.

Vicky.... I so rarely eat it, that I can't believe I gorged so much on it..... as Ann said, my body must have been screaming for it in some way.

Well... the sun is trying to shine here.... maybe we'll get into the garden after all... R has a week off, and he wants to concentrate on getting the garden de-weeded, some autumn plants in, and some of the ones we have, moved around slightly.... I have two dicentra which need moving, plus a fern, some French lavender, and another plant who's name I can't remember just now. I have spots elsewhere for those... they are not doing well where they are... well, except the dicentra, and they took over the spot... I have a bigger gap to fill further up the bed, and then next year we'll get the full glory of the variegated cotoneaster... it had loads of pretty pink and white flowers in the spring, but we couldn't see them as they were engulfed! As was the lungwort .

Off to get some brekkie.... poached egg on toast, I think, this morning!

I had an invite to a wedding blessing in the post this morning! now I've never worn a hat in my life!( with my hair, I couldnt find one to fit anyway) apart from a mantilla!LOL. So thats something to really look forward to!
Right of to hit the shower, and see if I can put the correct products where they're ment to go!LOL

Hello, Daff, J has just got back from seeing the consultant, and he doesnt have to go again for 6 months, so relieved to get this news, btw, the doc says he took his appendix out too !! now that was a big surprise....

Poor Ann , I know how you feel we are due to have a check up, but the flippn cost is so high ....

When are the Camelia,s supposed to flower , My original one has lots of leaves but no sign of flowering...

Jean, that is brilliant news... but hey... his appendix as well???? That's probably why he was more sore than he expected!

Camellia are usually early flowerers... any time from March until late May early June... your new one will flower next year... the buds will be beginning to form soon, though, be careful in the winter, if the spot they are in gets the early morning sun... if there has been a frost or snow, then the buds may get damaged from the burn as the sun hits them... they may need a fleece or some sort of protection.

my two may have killed each other before the end of the day - never mind the school holidays......our garden is like a bog, the patio doesn't contain O, and I don't let them play in the street.....! sometimes the house isn't big enough!!!! well i have been reading the thread life does get tedious eh
.i am studying had first assignment back to adjust quite pleased with the result
but also been painting outside mange to get the gate repainted and my bench also the steps and window sills as the weather has been reasonable here ,
I have pursuaded the window cleaners to take all the junk to the tip for a lot less than the council were charging
any way have a lovely evening everyone

Re Camellias. My book on trees and shrubs for New Zealand says ornamental members of the genus flower in autumn, winter and early spring. That fits in with what my camellia is doing. It is in full flower now and we are in the middle of winter, plus there is a sasanqua camellia which is also flowering, though it usually starts in April (autumn.)

Daff, you will have to tell your camellias that they are not in New Zealand. Or are they the early spring variety?

~~~~~~~ to everyone!! I am going out shopping with sister... just phoned me.... off to Cribbs causeway, lol! She'll be here any minute... I am supposed to be transferring pennies from much depleted savings into current account, lol!!

Huia.... most camellia here seem to flower from mid to late spring... I have three, one flowers end of Jan into Feb, other end of Feb into March.... and the third and grandest I have to wait until early May for... I think they have been *Tweaked* so that they give pleasure throughout the dark winter months, lol... same with the clematis... there is at least one that you can find for flowering every month of the year... it is my aim to find them all, lolol!!

Must go... sister here, and niece is giving me grief, the wench!!

Well my ex M.I.L has done it again!!! Its my ex's Birthday on sunday, and shes invited Him and my sons down to Haverfordwest for the day, while I can sit here twiddling my thumbs! It wasnt good enough that she didnt want me at my F.I.L's funeral, shes trying to divide and conquer now!! Luckily though, I met and stayed at Jax's for the day then!

2.05 a.m. here in NZ. I was sleeping in the spare bedroom hoping for an uninterrupted nights sleep for a change but OH got up just after midnight some time and made himself a cuppa and he then started opening and shutting the front door which is a sliding one and rumbles right next to spare room. It woke me and I cant get back to sleep now. I thought a bit of intellectual stimulation on here might tire me out. Come on, where are all you intellectuals with the stimulation I need?
