We were fine once we picked up the A48, a road we are very familiar with having lived in Lydney for eight years in the 70s. Traffic was quite light on the M5 as well which helped.

Well we left here there with her family, and SueM and Gwyn were still there too and a few others so goodness knows how many she will have had by now, but she was fine when we left. No of course she didn't leave it all to others although her family are great and were sharing a great deal of the work. think she'd prepared enough food for the whole of South wales Lol!!!! at least R knows what he will be getting for breakfast lunch and tea next week Lol!!!!

So pleased that you had a lovely time Daff, it all seemed to go off very well and one of the benefits of a large family is having them to help clear up. (Never did work out who was who except for your sons and H and your lovelyl Mum.) Still , confused, that is normal for me.

Gwyn in Kent Report 28 Jun 2009 11:27

Just checking that all is well today after such a busy day yesterday.
Thank you for sharing a very special day
It was great to see you and R. again Daff and lovely to meet your family. Big lad was only tiny lad of course, when I last saw him, so it was good to meet him again. What fine young men you have with lovely families too.
At last I got to meet some GR folk too,so an added bonus ....thank you for your great company, everyone.

Everybody obviously wanted to get INTO Wales yesterday, but no trouble at all getting out except for detouring via westbound motorway. Even then it was much quicker than earlier journey.

How's your specs?
Do you see clearly, ...Lol

I think we all agree, A fantastic time was had by all.I hate to think of the mess you and yours had to clean up after, cos it was like the feeding of the five thousand!LOL, I'me still full today!!
Well Daff, I must go, as this monito is doing my eyes in!! Gratefull as I am though, he's having a new one from me tomorrow, and a new one for myself too!

Daff, just realised one of the plants escaped back home Lol!!!

Opened the boot at the garden centre to put in some more plants we'd bought, found the chairs still in the boot plus a large pot of aquilegia! Of course it was my fault lol!!!

Will keep them until we see you again.

We have just got home...lol we did stay overnight on Cardiff though.

Thank you Daff and R for a lovely day, you really do have a wonderful family. I felt quite guilty about not staying to help clear up (that's a lie really) but I felt I had to say it :-))

We all got together last night with Caroline to have a few drinks on her birthday, sadly D still isn't well so he missed out :-((

All in all we had a smashing weekend.

Hope you have had a chance to rest today Daff at least cooking will be at a minimum all this week.

Love from me and him

Hello all!

Well it seems that Daffers had a birthday to remember - and quite rightly so!

I was sorry to have missed it, but there is always the next time))))

I guess Daff is really tired today but hopefully is still luxuriating in the warm glow she obviously had yesterday and I am truely pleased for her.

Love to all - keep putting yourselves in the shade this week, cos it's gonna be hot, hot, hot. We dont want any of those "panda-streaks" - very unflattering!!!!

Bi for now
