So sorry to hear your news Caz, and to hear that Joyce had a disappointing visit to the clinic.
Mo I am sorry too to hear about your nephew. My shoulder is still sore but that is nothing compared to the troubles noted by Caz, Joyce and yourself.
Sylvia, 6 hours good stamina you had there.
Just been watching the last Midsommer, anyone else watch it. Sad to see John Nettles leave.

Hi Linda,
It's nice to see you on here again, hope that you and your family are all okay.
As I said to Caz earlier on, she has got all her friends on here for her, and that is including you Linda. We all have to keep sending her lots of positive thoughts and prayers so that the chemo will do the job it should.
Mo, I'm so sorry to hear the news about your nephew, I really hope that they can do something for him without him having to have another operation. Sending lots of thoughts and prayers to him.
My brother is fine now, thank you. After having six operations last year, I don't think that there can be much wrong with him now.lolol!!!
Joking aside, thank goodness he's alright now, and we're all hoping that he won't have to go into hospital for a very long time again. I know the last couple of times he was in, he wasn't very well at all, and had to stay in over Christmas. Things could have been worse.
Well. I'm going to have a cuppa now, so speak to you all tomorrow.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Hi all
Caz ... I'm so sorry to hear your news. keep fighting! xxx
and was sorry to hear that Joyce had a disappointing visit to the clinic. xxx
Mo .............. I am also sorry to hear about your nephew.
I did sit down a lot yesterday!! About 45 minutes lying on the physio couch. About 45 minutes to have lunch. Almost the same having coffee. AND everything was within a couple of blocks, so I didn't have to walk too far.
It does take almost an hour each way on the buses (3 going but only 2 coming back).
It is a bit warmer today ...... but it is also cloudy, and almost no sun!
Keeping my figners crossed for those in Queensland
..... and also for those in the eastern US and eastern Canada who're going through a horrendous snowstorm, that has caused problems all the way down to Texas.

Thanks everyone for your support, this time it's taking some getting used to for some reason. Don't worry Sylvia I always fight it, it's not going to get me. Joyce must have arrived over here as she rang me but I couldn't get to the phone quickly enough, she won't leave a message either so I know it's her. I'll pass on any news if there is any, but knowing Joyce there's always something.
Love Caz xx

Hi Caz, I'm sure it must be very difficult for you to get used to, I don't know how you can get used to that, ever. As you know we're all cheering you on, so that you will beat the "horrible thing", once again.
I hope Joyce had a good trip over to Liverpool, and that it was without any mishaps.
Alun is off to his Model Railway Club in 15 mins, so I'm hoping to start on some cards. I need to get a move on, as there are a few birthdays coming up, at the moment I'm not feeling too motivated, I'm afraid.
Mo, have you heard anymore about your nephew , today? Thinking about him.
Alun has to make an appointment with our surgery so that he can have a pneumococcal vaccine, now that he's 65. We had never heard about before now, so I'm just wondering if any of our friends on here have either had the vaccine themselves or know someone that has. I'm a bit wary about any vaccine that Alun or I haven't had before.
We haven't heard from Jean, Marie and Tess for a while now, I hope that everything is alright with them all.
Might speak to you all later.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Hi Girls. Sallie the vaccine that Alun is going to have is the pneumonia jab. Roly had his ages ago,and didn't suffer ant side affects from it. Apparantly you only need to have the jab done once, and it gives you coverage for pneumonia, but the flu jab is done yearly. I should be entitled to mine this October, when I am 65, shhhhh don't tell anyone I am that old. LOL
Caz, keep your chin up honey, and knock em for six, do it one day at a time. I hope Joyce does ring you back to confirm that she has arrived safetly. She's a gal she is,and like you, despite whatever knocks you back, makes you both stronger. I wish sometimes I had your strength.
Sallie, I have just phoned my brother about my nephew, and there is no news yet. He is waiting to hear from his ex-wife or daughter, to find out if the hospital rang my nephew. Why he can't phone his son himself I don't know. I get so angry with him at times, he can be such a woos, and wont fight his corner against wife number two.
Thank the lord that the cyclone never claimed any lives in OZ. But did you see the chaos it caused in that Marina,on the T.V. Boats picked up in the air and thrown around like pieces of ply wood.
Take care girls, love to all. Mo xxx

Hi all
pouring with rain here
Sallie ...... I had that jab when I turned 65.
It's a protection against pneumona, and is a one-time only jab given to 65+ year olds.
I got that in one arm, and the flu jab in the other
The flu jab caused more of a reaction than the pneumonia one, and even that was only a little swelling and soreness
Go for it ....................... pneumonia would be far worse
AND there seem to be more and more pneumonia cases these days, especially over here.
So glad to see that the cyclone didn't claim any lives.
Where J lives apparently got 30-35 cm snow YESTERDAY as that snowstorm I mentioned barrelled its way through.
She only said in an email on Tuesday that M was fed up with shovelling snow ............... he'd got up at 5 am that morning to shovel so that she could get out of the house and go to work. So she had called their yard man (the one who mows grass in the summer), and he'd put them on his list for snow clearing.
Good decision eh?
Mo .... can't see why your bro couldn't phone the hospital or his son himself!

I agree with you Sylvia, re my brother. I dont really want to ring my niece up to ask her questions, but if my brother is anything like he was, when M was undergoing his surgery inititially, I will be ringing my niece.
My word poor J having to suffer with that amount of snow. What are their temperatures like there, is it very cold. I know that when the snow lays initially, it warms up a bit, but if they have had very heavy falls it is probably very cold. It will be a novelty for MJ, but it's not like he is old enough to play in it yet,is it. ....LOL I hope you are both o.k Love Mo

Yes Sallie, I've had that jab as well and so has T with no problems, well worth having.
Pleased the cyclone was not as bad as they expected although it was seemingly bad enough.
Feeling quite pleased with myself Sallie, made 6 cards in the past two days. Managed a visit to the Range this morning, after Sainsbury's, Homebase and Dunelm. Only bought one packet of ribbon stickons and two packs of 'jewels', and the Docraft magazine. Didn't dare buy any more craft stuff having sorted and tidies all my existing stash and knowing how much I already have.
Hvae to go into town tomorrow, got the chiropodist (don't like that much), then a few bits to get. Then tomorrow evening we are at the golf club for quite a boring evening, prize presentation evening. There is a dinner first then have to sit through all the prizes presented for last year. We are only going because T has a prize to collect for winning the seniors championship last summer. And it is a collect it and hand it back prize too (a plate that stays in the cabinet on display). He will get a token prize of some sort, previous times it has been a silver tea spoon engraved.

Mo and Sylvia, thanks for letting me know about the vaccine, Alun isn't bothered about having it at all, it was just me worrying about side effects. I'm not due to have mine for about eighteen months yet and as I've already had pneumonia once, I will deffinitely have the vaccine. It took almost three months before I felt completely better, it was awful.
I agree with you Mo, your brother should phone his son or the hospital himself to find out how he is.....or it would be nice if he went to visit him,
Sylvia, hope it isn't too cold for J and her family and that the snowstorms won't go on for too long.
Ann, not long seen your thread from last night. Yes we watched the last one of Midsommer last night, it's one (or was) of our favourite progammes. It's such a shame that John Nettles have left it, not sure that it will be the same from now on.

Hi Ann, just missed you. Well done on making some cards over the last couple of days. Yes I have so much stash myself, so I mustn't buy anymore for a while, as I won't have anywhere to store it.
We have someone coming to look at the house next Tuesday evening, so I'm trying to keep it tidy, as Jennie told me, I can't keep all my craft stuff about when they come, as if I would.lolol!!
Well they will be the first lot that we've had to see it, and it's been on the market for almost a year. So we shall wait and see, I'm not holding my breath though.lol!!

Not very eagar though are they Sallie, next Tuesday? Or are they coming from another area?
We once sold one of our houses to people who arrived to view at 1pm on a Sunday without an appointment. We ate our meal at lunchtimes on Sundays then and din't have a dishwasher. The kitchen was full of dirty pots and pans and plates as we had just finished eating. I was feeding our 13 month old son so you can imagine the state of the high chair and the house still smelled of cooked vegetables from the Sunday roast. They also paid the asking price.

Ann, that's what both Jennie and I thought, most people like to view within a couple of days, but this will be a week, the estate agents let us know on Tuesday afternoon.
Of course, Alun and Michael think that they are prpbably not living in the area, so that's why they are coming next week.
I don't know where they live, the estate agent didn't tell Alun that when he spoke to her.
They are also coming when it's dark, which I thought a bit strange too, I should think it would be better in the daytime. Maybe it's just me thinking that way.lol!!
All the houses we've sold in the past have gone straight away, but this is the first one for this house.

Hi there everyone. I hope Ann and T enjoy their meal tonight, and that the noise from the Rugby followers doesn't spoil the night for them.
My goodness Sallie, I am surprised that no one has snapped your house up yet. But then the housing market has slowed down a lot hasn't it. Fingers crossed that these viewers like your house. You will have to start looking for another house yourselves, if they do like it. As the one you liked very much the last time round, has probably been sold now.
We waited till this evening to go and get our shopping, hoping that the wind would drop. But alas no, it's still blowing a gale out there. Trying to push the shopping trolley down to the car, was a fete in itself. One step forward and two back,it fair took my breath away. I am just happy to back in the house again. Tomorrow night we are baby sitting for our daughter again, she is of out for the evening. I will take my laptop with me, so that I can speak to you all. Hope you are all well. Love to you all. Mo xxx

Mo, you should have tried walking backwards, that would have got you there quicker, one step forward and two back.
Strange weather here. Yesterday I couldnt decide if it was low fog or a light misty rain. It is the same today. I might take the opportunity to clean the verandah which is getting slippery again. Then I will do some washing and hang it up indoors. Better get on with it or the day will be over before it has started.
Huia.

Hi there Huia. Mind you don't slip over on that verandah,if it's that slippery out there. I have forgotten the last time I was able to hang my washing outside. My house is starting to look like a chinese laundry. I think I should change my name to the Dohbi woman. How is Liz doing now, is she any better. I know it's coming up for the anniversary of the loss of her daughter, bless her it must be so hard for her. Speak to you again soon love, take care. Love Mo xxx

Hi Girls,
Mo, this is the first and only viewing we've had, so I'm not building up my hopes. It's almost a year since we put the house on the market.
The bungalow that we liked was sold about 7 months ago, I still look at it as we're on the way to Jennie's.... it was a good size with two double bedrooms, which would have been ideal. Never mind, I'm sure we'll see something else that we like just as much.
It's been blowing a gale here today too, but it has stayed dry, I hope that it will be dry tomorrow, so that I can get the washing dry.
I'm not going out at all tomorrow, I have a few jobs to do and I need to make a few more birthday cards.....between family and friends, we have a lot of birthdays in March, so I need to make a start.
It's very quiet on here, I wonder if everyone is okay......well, apart from the ones we know about.
Mo, I'm going to have a nice cup of tea now, I think it's an addiction with me , now.
Love and best wishes to you all. Sallie.xxx
