Talk about getting him to stop. I thought he was upstairs on his computer but I thought I would go and check and no, he is still working, he has put the two sets of book shelves back and is now doing the TV and the shelves under that.
Caz, it must have been quite a juggling act to carry that lot on a wheel chair, how many people did you 'get' with your crutches? Haveyou got one of those walkers with shelves to help you to transport craft stuff around the flat?
Mo, there you are, thought I hadn't seen you on here today. Yes it was a good price for the carpet and underlay, the carpet was in a sale. \the room is actually 3x2.5 metres. It does look nice and fresh though, I was surprised at how the old carpet had faded, I had not remembered it was originally quite a dark brown, it had faded to fawn except for the bit under the bed settee. The new one is a sort of stone colour. Huia, I don't want to wish it on anyone but I hope the cyclone stays up north for your sake.

Hello again,
Huia, just seen your posting, pleased to know that the cyclone passed your part of NZ, but I feel so sorry for the people and their families that have lost their homes and family members.
It's good to know that you are okay and I hope you've been able to get in touch with your sister and that her and her family are alright too.
It's nice that we have friends on GR that care and are concerned about us, as you say we are all like one big family.
Ann, T will be worn out tomorrow after all the work he's done today, bless him. I suppose if he feels like doing it, he might as well, at least there will be a couple of jobs done and out of the way.
It's good that T can fit the carpet, as it can save a bit of money. I think the worst part of having a new carpet, is to have to clear the room of everything and then to have to put it all back in again, but at least you can have a bit of a sort out that way, and sometimes get rid of things that are no good.
Mo, it was seeing Jean's craft room all nice and tidy, that shamed me into sorting my craft stuff out. Our dining room was a mess with all the craft stuff about, so with Jennie and Michael's help it looks a lot better. I've still got a few bits to sort, but I'm getting there, I'm just wondering how tidy I'll keep it once I start making cards again, after the BIG sort out.lol!!
Hope your baby granddaughter is alright and that she is now feeding well.
Well girls I'll speak to you all tomorrow.
Love to you all. Sallie.xxx

Hi Mo and everyone xxx
it's been rather warm here, for winter! Temperatures are 3 or 4C above normal. Meanwhile Eastern Canada and eastern US are having very bad snow storms, yet again!
not much news otherwise!
Oh yes, the tickets for our summer trip are all booked.

Hi girls, I spoke to Joyce this morning and she is still troubled with cramp but the doctor says there's not much can be done, she is going to the pain clinic on 2nd Feb so I hope she gets some relief, I got sent to one and still have my nurse whenever I need her, it's a good thing. Sallie I got a box for my fiddly bits from the Range, it is like a chest with a lift up lid and four draws behind a drop down front, the drawers are divided for small things but all different sizes, sounds what you are looking for, it holds all my embelishments and the top is quite large to hold scrap card and papers or whatever. Ann I am going in my own chair next time, I managed by putting a bottom of each crutch on the footrests and holding them both together, but it was hard trying not to let them drop, and no I didn't 'get' anybody with them, we had a few comedy moments though with me thinking I could reach things and knocking things off, hubby says he isn't going with me again, lol. Yes I have a walker with a tray on and a seat but the flat is so small it makes it hard to use without bumping into things, I usually put things in a carrier bag if I have a few bits to carry about. Mo that kid on the quad bike is lucky I can't walk or else I would have marched out there and told him to go play somewhere else, act like a child and be treated like one. I'm surprised no one has collared him, he was at it up and down the street at nine oclock last night, come to think of it I haven't heard him today. Hope everyone is ok, I'm in touch with Jean regularly and she is well but busy, not suffering with vertigo now as much but feeling the cold.
Love Caz xx

Hello Girls,
Well, Alun and I went to Derby this morning, but it was really cold. We were there before nine, so after getting the meat from the butchers I like to buy it from, we went to the bakers/coffee shop for a nice cuppa and a sit down in the warm, before going anywhere else.
Caz, I think that we will have to go to the Range so that I can get some more storage boxes, I have a couple of empty storage boxes spare, but they are too big for what I want them for. So it looks as though I'll have to talk nice to Alun.lol!! It's a shame that I can't drive, it would be great to be able to get there myself.
Poor Joyce, it's a shame that the doctor can't give her something to take, so that at least she wouldn't suffer from cramp as much as she does.
Glad to hear that the reason we haven't heard from Jean, is because she's busy and that she isn't suffering from the dreaded vertigo.
Huia, hope you are okay today...sorry that you need to have a fan heater on and have to wear warm clothes, with it being your summertime.
If I only sleep for a short time during the day, I have trouble getting to sleep at night, so I try my best not to nod off while watching TV. Alun can nod off in the evening and still go to sleep when he goes to bed...I wish I was the same.

It was cold out here too although we only went for the papers and a coffee at the garden centre round the corner.
I have spent most of the day getting my room back how I want it. I have just taken a couple of photos if anyone wants to see it. Better PM me your e mails if you do, I do have Mo's and Jean's not sure about the others though.
I think T got a lot of satisfaction from doing the carpet Sallie and he really made a good job of it, and all the shelves went back exactly right so thatw as good when it came to putting things back. I did throw a lot of stuff out, it doesn't look like it but I have been able to re-arrange things so that it is more convenient.
How strange that the temperature should be above normal in Vancouver and colder than usual for the time of year in New Zealand! About normal here, cold and grey, although we did have some sun today and yesterday.
Caz, you will have to get a pea shooter and see if you can get him from the window the wretch. What you could do with is one of those apron things made for gardeners with lots of pockets to cary things in. still I suppose a carrier bag is cheaper, but you have to use one of your hands for that. Hmm maybe between us we could patent something?? Actually Mo I find it quite hard to keep him sitting down unless there is a football or rugby match on, he doesn't watch much else. He does sit in his office but he is usually mending mobiles or something or occasionally playing with his flight simulator or submarine programme. He doesn't read, except for computer mags or newspapers so at least the computer keeps his brain active. It isn't only the carpet laying, he had to take out the computer, printer, display etc and the TV so I am pleased that he can set all that lot up again. And, no he hardly seemed tired, although we both slept in until 9am this morning from 11pm last night!

Ann that is a good idea, I already have my sewing machine out to make some pillow cases from a spare sheet, I can use some of the sheet for an apron. Why didn't I think of that, my dad was a painter and decorator and use to wear one like that.

I was just dozing in short spurts last night. I must remember to drink lots of water today.

Hello girls. Brrrr what a cold day it has been today. We have been at our daughters house for most of the day. Roly has been fitting bolts on her doors, so that she can feel safer at night. It wasn't so bad before her husband left her, she felt safe having him around. But with her being alone with the three girls, she needed the extra security, so she can sleep better of a night. We all know how many strange noises we notice when we are alone in a house, that we had never noticed before. I haven't seen the baby since last Monday, so I am suffering withdrawal symptoms. Our son went back to work on Friday, and I did ring to make sure baby and mum were o.k. I don't want her to feel like I am poking my nose in,and want to allow her to get in a routine for herself.
Well done on the suggestion for the pocket apron Ann. I had a good giggle about the colour of the carpet under the bed. The same thing happened to us, only ours was a dark blue carpet, or was supposed to have been. When we decorating the small bedroom last year, we moved the bed out, and sure as eggs are eggs, where the sun had been shing on the larger piece of carpet, it was lighter than under the bed. I just shampoo'd it after the decorating was finished, and put the bed back where it had come out from. No one knows the difference, apart from us, well and my friends on here. LOL
Huia, I hope it has warmed up a bit for you by now. I thought it was only us unlucky lot here in the U.K that were suffering with the cold.
Sylvia, shhh dont tell Huia you are having a heat wave, she will be getting jealous. It's good to hear you have managed to get your tickets booked for your next trip. How is little MJ now.? ((((((((( Hugs for him)))))))))))
Caz, I would have loved to have seen you knocking things down from the shelves, with your sticks. I can visualise your OH, walking away saying out loud, "She's not with me" LOL It would be good if you are able to use a catapult, to hurl stones at that nutter on the quad bike. Perhaps if you knocked him of the bike a couple of times, with a stone across the back of his head, he would think that someone up above was telling him something, and he might stop zooming around the place. You could hide behind the curtains when you did it, so that didn't realise it was you. If you need me to come up and do it for you, just let me know. We would have a right giggle about it. Ann with her pea shooter, us with the catapult, cor he wouldn't stand a chance. LOL
Cor luv a duck Sallie, did you and Alun P the bed last night, being in Derby before 9.00a.m. My word I bet the pavements weren't even dry when you got out of the car. Have you got the family at yours for dinner tomorrow. You must cook some extra, then we can all come for our sunday dinner.
XXXXXXXXXX (((((((for Jean and Joyce))))))))))))
I hope Marie is o.k. I bet she's in the garden again doing some more weeding. Or she's at the gym or aqua aerobics, she's such a fit girl. (((((((HUGS))))))
Well ladies, I am going to do a Sallie and put the kettle on for a cuppa. Take care everyone. Love Mo xxx

Hi again,
Ann, I would love to see the photos of your room please, if you don't mind.
It's amazing how T was hardly tired after all the work he did yesterday, at least you both could sleep in until 9 a.m.
Caz, we didn't go to the Range after all, we went to Asda because we needed to get a few thinks that we had run out of, so while we were there I had a look at their storage stuff and found exactly what I wanted. I'm pleased we went there now, but the only thing we spent more money than we intended to( that isn't difficult, I know ) and we ended up buying a 19inch flat screen TV for the dining room. So it looks as though we're on dry bread and water for a while.lolol!!
Huia, I hope you are feeling better today, it certainly sounds as though you could have had some sort of virus or bug to sleep as much as you did yesterday. You probably did the best thing by sleeping it off.
It's a wonder we haven't heard from Mo today, I hope she's alright. Maybe she's having trouble with her laptop again, as she did in the week. We all miss you Mo, when we don't hear from you.
I'm going to try and finish sort out the craft stuff now, so I'll speak to you all soon.
Love and best wishes to all our friends. Sallie.xxx

Hi all, I must admit Marie is on my mind a lot during the day, I hope she is ok but in all likelyhood she is busy in her garden, or maybe gone to see relatives. Mo we could all get together and ambush him with peashooters, he wouldn't know what had hit him, trouble is though he wears a crash helmet so wouldn't feel it. By the way I was good with my crutches, didn't hit anyone but I kept thinking I could reach things but knocked them down, you're right hubby did walk off at one point saying he's not with me, he does that a lot I wonder why, lol. Huia I hope you are feeling a bit better now, how is Phil these days I haven't seen you mention him, unless I missed it. Ann it's alright having the ideas but you need to put them into practice as well, you make one and I'll wear it. I have to put the kettle on now as hubby will be home with our curry soon.
Love Caz xx

Mo, just seen your post, glad that you are okay. You made me laugh when you asked if Alun and I had wet the bed . If we go to Derby on a Saturday we like to go early so that we can get what we need before it gets too crowded.
We go on the bus as it saves the hassle of parking and lots of traffic. Usually it's fairly quiet on the bus at that time, but this morning the bus was full. So it looks as though there was a lot of us wet the bed last night, Mo.lolol!!
No matter how old our children are, there are times when they need our help. It's good that we are able to help them and are there for them when we are needed.
Glad to hear that the baby and mum are both okay.
The wife of one of the technicians that Alun works with, is a paramedic for East Midlands Ambulance service, who are doing a survey on who and how many have called for an ambulance. I'm not sure how long they've been doing the survey, but they are finding that older people are less likely to call for one and that some people call an ambulance for something minor and they could and should have gone straight to A&E instead. So there's something to be said for us golden oldies. lolol!!
I'd better go and do that sorting now, or it won't get done.
Love, Sallie. xxx

Oooh Jean, ((((((((((((((CUDDLES TO KEEP YOU WARM)))))))))))).
I woke up yesterday with the startings of a cold sore, and this morning, weeell it's ginormous.(sp) The poor elephant man had nothing on me, I look a sorry sight. I have been to the chemist's and bought some cold sore cream. I did use aftershave on it yesterday, to try and dry it out, but ooooh did it sting. I wouldn't mind but I have not really had a cold, so I am just hoping that this is not a warning of things to come. Roly keeps taking the mickey out of me and calling me "Herpes face". I know that cold sores are a strain of the Herpes family. Oh poor me, come on now ahhhhhhhhhhhh. It's high time that flippin cough went, and left you in peace. Slap for J it is his fault, for giving it to you in the first place. Love to you and J and D.

Mo T suffers with cold sores and has found that if he puts Zovirax on as soon as he feels the suspicious tingle, they often don't develop. Zovirax is really good. He often gets a cold sore instead of a cold.
I will send the pics today. And your too Jean, hope you are feeling warmer today. Sally I will send them to you if you PM me your e mail, I don't seem to have it. Not that they are very exciting, just photos of a room.
