Jean, you have done well with your cards--you are so quick doing them too. I think I need to get a quicker making mine. I feel really tired today, as I didn't get much sleep last night, so hope I will tonight. At one time last night, I thought of getting up and getting on with the cards--but then thought better of it, because of having to go and see the Counsellor this morning. This 'addiction ' I have is the root of the almost sleepless night.

Mo, glad to know that you are feeling better! Talking about vests, Janet was telling me this morning that I ought to
wear a vest. I haven't worn one since I before I went to secondary school, much to the annoyance of both my mum and nan. No Mo, I'm not helping Jean to make her cards --- I'm making them for Christie's 21st Birthday. I've only got a few bits to put on them and I can send them to her. I'm making one for Richard to give to her, from him, so hope it will be okay. After I've finished the cards I always think that they aren't good enough, although a lot of people tell me that they are lovely. I tend to pick up on all the little
things that perhaps I should or could have done differently.

Everything went well with the Counsellor today, so I'm not going until the 6th May. Both of us came to a mutual agreement about the next appointment.

Anyway, must go and finish the bits left on the cards, I want to post them tomorrow.

Love, Sallie. xxx

Morning Sallie and All.
The x-ray proceedure went okay, thanks, and took about a couple of hours. Couldn't see the screen as it was behind me. When you mentioned that your daughter watched her Colonoscopy, it made me shudder. When I had mine, and the follow up Sigmoidoscopy, I couldn't watch. I also went for something else, and that also came up on screen, but when I said I did not want to watch, the person doing it said keep your eyes closed, as the screens have to be in front so he could see what he was doing. Ugh ugh. Horrid.
I have a Gilet on the needles at the moment, but have just done a scarf in one of these new bobble yarns. Quite a challenge that was, but I managed to finish it. Tried the other afternoon to start a scarf that is based on the Mobius shape. It is knitted on a circular needle, but i can't get the hang of it. I won't let it beat me, but just havn't time to 'play' with it at the moment. Will save it for a winter's afternoon when I have more time. I am now heavily into the garden season, and the greenhouse is heaving.
Off to do some cooking prep. for this afternoon, then I am going to M****sons, which I hope, is better than last Friday, Ha,ha,
Hope you bungalow hunting is going okey.
Speak later

Hello one and all.
Another glorious day here in Kent.
I sat in the garden for a while today,it was so nice out there.
I checked on my shrubs that I planted last year, and they are coming through really well.
The other day when I did some weeding out there,I cleared up all my cats poo. She has this awful habit off hanging her rear end over the pots, and doing her business in them. I had them all cleared up,and nice and clean,
but the little madam, has been at it again. So it looks like I have got to go
*hi* shovelling every day now. Why oh why cant my cat use other peoples gardens. LOL I know some off you will be screaming at me now,but I AM only joking.
I hope you are all well, and enjoying good weather as well.
Debbie should be back home this weekend I think. As the children are due back at school next week.
I hope they hope had a good time.
Love to you all. Mo xxx

Hi Girls,

Mo, it's been a lovely day here too. Michael and Jennie came over this afternoon so that Michael could put the power hose over the patio and down the steps and path going down to the garden. It looks so much better now that it's been done. Alun was home from work at twelve , so he's been sorting some things out in the utility room/model railway room.
Jennie and I have been cleaning some drawers out in the kitchen---she wanted to know why we keep so much stuff.

Jean, isn't it lovely when you can get on with your cardmaking in peace an quiet. I haven't had time to make any cards today, and I can't see me having any time tomorrow either, as we are moving some furniture from one room to another. My friend's husband and son-in-law are coming accross to help Alun and Michael. So it looks as though we are going to be in a bit of a mess for tomorrow morning, at least. I must get Alun to send you the pics of the cards and scrap pages I've done. They're nothing exceptional, but I suppose they're not too bad for a beginner.

Julia, my auntie always bought Womans Weekly years ago, she liked the knitting and crochet patterns in there, also the recipes. Talking about circular needles, many years ago I did the neck on a polo neck sweater on one, it turned out quite well. My mother use to do some baby coats on them for my niece when she was a baby, they were really pretty. When I went to the hospital last year with Jennie for her check -up, she wanted me to go in with her to see the IBD nurse, and while we were in there, she showed us photos of Jennie's colon with the last very bad ulcer she had, it looked really nasty, and then she showed us the photo of the scars after the ulcer had healed. I don't like looking at things like that, but it was interesting.

I hope everyone else is alright. Alun's just brought me a nice cup of tea, bless him, so speak to you all tomorrow.

Hi Sallie.
It's surprising what a pressure washer can do isn't it. We will have to get round to doing ours soon, weather permitting off course.
I know what you mean about scar tissue,to internal organs. The pain from it,can sometimes be worse than any given ailment.
As I have told you before,I have scar tissue to the bowel, and at times it is more painful tham the IBS itself.
But in Jennies illness it is even worse, bless her. How is she coping now.
Are the injections helping the problem.

A lovely day here too. I sat outside reading for an hour then felt guilty so did a bit of gardening for half an hour!

The only trouble I find with a pressure washer is that the patio and path ends up clean and the conservatory windows end up filthy!

I don't have internal scars but I seem prone to keloid scars, the two minor ops I have had in the past two years have left me with thickened scars which can be very sore and painful.

We have yet another beautiful day here in Kent.
I have decided that tommorrow I must go and get my bedding plants. It's time I got them, and hardened them ready for putting out.
I hope to hear from you soon.

As you say,we can never be to sure with our country's weather. I would hate to lose them to an unexpected frost.

Hi All,

Just a quick look in to see if everyone is okay. The last two days have been very busy, we've been moving furniture from one room to another, had a few helpers here, so I've been making tea and coffee for them all. Jennie and I have been sorting out some wardrobes, and moving the china out and then back into the units that have been moved. Michael's sister came to lunch with them today, their mum and dad have gone away for a week, so she stayed with Jennie and Michael for the weekend, so I invited her to lunch--- I couldn't see her on her own.

As you said Mo, it's been very quiet on this thread over the weekend. I wonder if Jean is still making cards!

Speak to you all tomorrow. Take care!

Love and best wishes . Sallie xxx

Hi all.
Jean,my love, what can we do to help you through this bad period. It makes me feel so inadequate, that I cannot be around the corner,to give you a lovely BIG((((((HUG)))))). And to try to cheer you up,and brighten your day, just a little. Oh if only we were nearer, all off us,we could meet and chat to our hearts delight.
I have not even got a reason to tease you,oh poooo thats not like me is it.
Roly has gone to a pain management meeting, this afternoon. I should have gone with him really,as I am the biggest pain he could ever have.
He went for physio-therapy for his aches and pains last year, but nothing worked for him,so as a last resort they suggested pain therapy. I don't know if it will work for him though. It's just as likely that he will attend this meeting and not bother to go any more.
I hope you are not suffering from aches and pains today Sallie, after all that furniture moving yesterday.
Don't worry, all the clutter will soon collect again. It doesn't seem to matter
how much we get rid off we soon accumulate it again.
Hi Marie,I can understand your nerves with the grandchildren taking their
driving tests. I was the same with,my eldest grandaughter. She failed about three times, before finally passing. But she frightens the life out off me,when she drives her car, she's such a scatter brain. She totally ignores the speed limits, and one off these days she is going to get caught
The two who are both coming up to eighteen, are now having driving lessons. I ask them to warn me what days their lessons are,so that I can stay indoors in safety. lol
All my own children, passed their driving tests first time. And up until 2004
I was the only member off the family not to drive. But I felt left out,so took driving lessons myself, and passed first time. Mind you,I had to change to an automatic,as I kept messing the gears up,and stalling at traffic lights.
So I was so chuffed with myself to pass first time as well.
Enough off my waffling. Take care everyone. Love to all. Mo xxx

Well done on finishing the cards Jean, do you think you might have overdone it a bit? Sorry to hear you are feeling down, maybe you are anaemic if you are sleeping a lot. Hope you feel better soon.

I feel a bit down myself but know the reason for that as I found out this morning that I have shingles in my upper arm. It is very painful and it was too late for treatment so just have to let it take its course. I have to try and limit the amount of typing I do.

Mo in Kent

Mo in Kent Report 12 Apr 2010 17:48

Oh Ann,I am sorry to read about your shingles. Both my Mum and Roly have both had it,and I realise how painful it can be. Just get as much rest as you can,and take care off yourself. You must get over it soon, ready for your holiday in May.

JustJean Report 12 Apr 2010 18:55

Oh Ann, I am sorry to hear you have shingles, I have had them but was fortunate to get them treated right away,so they didnt last long I remember J got them years ago when we were on holiday at Mumbles but we had no idea they were shingles ,he was in a lot of pain, funnily enough although mine cleared up quickly, I still get a twinge of pain in that area, and was told you can still feel it for over a year, but the treatment has changed now, so hopefully it wont be long before yours heal quickly, well thats what we will be praying for...I have just had an offer to supply some cards for warden controlled home....just need to sort out how....
never thought about a reason for my tiredness, but have made an appointment to see the doc....

Mo I hope Roly gets some help this time,

love Jean xx

Sallie Report 12 Apr 2010 21:21

Hi All,

Jean, I'm sorry you've been feeling down over the last few days, as Ann pointed out it may be that you are a bit anaemic, and as you know that makes you very tired. You are doing the right thing, going to see your doctor. I hope that he can give you something, to help you with your tiredness. You are doing really well with your cards, and they are certainly going well by the sound of it. I hope you'll soon feel better!

Ann, sorry to hear that you have shingles. My sister-in-law had it a few years ago, and like you she was too late for treatment, so had to let it take it's course. Let's hope that it won't last too long, as I know my s-in-l was in a lot of pain with it.

Marie, hope you'll feel less worn out soon and will be back to your normal self. Well done to Sebastian, on passing his driving test first time, I bet he's thrilled to bits. Jennie seems to be doing fine on her new medication,
but she still gets the tiredness that goes with Crohn's. I think she was hoping that the new medication would take that away. Alun and I are still looking for a bungalow, there aren't many for sale at the moment, so we'll just have to keep looking.

Mo, you did well to pass your driving test first time. I didn't realise that you've only been driving since 2004. Have you got your own car? I think sometimes, Alun wishes I could drive, so that he wouldn't have to take me to places like Hobbycraft and the Range. Have you had any news on your nephew lately? I hope things are going along okay for him. Jennie and Michael are going down to the coast tomorrow afternoon, and taking Michael's sister with them. Their parent's have a big three bedroom caravan there, so they are going to join them there until Sunday---so I hope the weather will be okay for them.

Hope all is well with Huia, Julia, Marilyn and Liz . Also hope that Sylvia and Debbie are enjoying their holidays.

Love and best wishes to you all. Sallie. xxx
