Hi Huia, well he said it would do, and I have a feeling I have done it before and he has told me it would run the battery down, even think i did it with my own car years ago.
Can you believe the idiot spent time looking for the key first of all, then took mine off my keyring (and didn't bother putting it back, just slung it on the shelf) went out and found the key in the ignition and the battery dead! It's lucky the car is on the dhared drive next to this house and next door and in a cul de sac we only usually get people down here who should be here, not passers by or gangs of youths, otherwise the car might have gone completely!
I think problem is the correct word Huia, he is one big problem! He is so dopey he couldn't organise a booze up in a brewery!
Hope you are ok - did your son get to visit you or his Dad?

Morning all, quite a bit colder today but fine.... the boards seem very quite at the moment, perhaps folk were out and about in the sun , we have to grab it while we can....I think the harsh winter we have had has slowed not only the plants down but us too....lol...but we have hopefully a lovely warm summer to look forward to. we will be putting the clocks forward soon, that always makes me feel so much alive, wish we had summertime all the year round....
Liz, you do seem to be in a no win situation, hope things get better for you soon, love and (((((((((( X )))))))))))))
Hiua, How are you getting on, are you back singing, we all loved your diary, can we have some more please..xxx
Sylvia, havent said hi, for a while sorry, we watched the paralympics it brings us down to earth when we moan about our aches and pains they were wonderful to see,..... what is your weather like now? we are very slowly getting better here although each day can be different... take care...
Sally, I said I would get onto the police and her landlord, she is only eighteen, one day she moved in heavily pregnant, and has a little boy now, seems its the norm now for young girls to get pregnant and get all the freebies and benefits, sad really she should be out with her friends. Alun hit the nail on the head, my Jeff says the same thing , D on the other hand has a lot of sympathy with her not me though I cant do with her at all or her noisy mates....lol....but we will have to put up with it .... good excuse to have more hols ....How is your Jennie getting along, hope the medication has kicked in and helping her...is she doing her cards yet, I will pop a few more mags in the post for you both ...
Mo, my little darts champion... how are you? dont you dry up on me, no chat for a while, Have I renewed in vain, only did it for you, so if you are not going to chat to me I will send you the bill....lol...
Hope you are all living well and doing the best you can, chin up or in my case chins up...lol...~~~~~~~~~ to Ann, Debbie , Marie, Julie and anyone who would like one~~~~~~

Hi Everyone,
Huia, I loved your wedding photo and your dress looks lovely. Have you made your own clothes over the years. I use to make a lot of clothes for other people, especially for my niece, but didn't make any for myself. But it's years since I've made anything, although I did make the ring cushion for Jennie's wedding. Hope you are alright, and that Phil was as well as you can expect when you last seen him.
Jean, I also thought it's been a bit quiet on the boards over the last few days. I'm still busy making cards for the load of March birthdays we have. I've got two left to do, for my brother's birthday on Saturday. I've become addicted to cardmaking, the trouble is I don't want to do other things, like h-------k etc, etc. I must be get lazier as I get older! Hope you've has peace and quiet from ' her next door ' over the last last few days. Jennie seems to be going on alright with her new medication. Thank you for asking. She still hasn't started on making cards yet, I think she'd like to come over here when she starts makin them so that she can use my crafting things.
Mo, how did your team get on at darts last night ? I hope you all did well enough to win. Has your son and his girlfriend arrived home from Scotland yet? I hope things are starting to get sorted for him. I must go now, Jennie and Michael have just arrived, so I'll speak to you all later on.
Love, Sallie xxx

Hello everyone. We lost at darts last night,so no trophy for little old me,boo hoo. Still it's one less thing to have to dust. lol Jean my love,I could never dry up. I could talk for England and more. I am so glad you renewed, coz I would miss you. But you would not get away from me that easily,I would bombard you with e.mails. Just think,I have not got darts for a couple off weeks, until the knockouts start,so you will have to put up with me on a Monday night as well. ha ha. I agree that the boards have been very slow lately. Apart from the controversial threads, that I read but do not take part in. Oh Liz,I see that mr misery has started again. Why is it always a womans fault when something goes missing. I bet you were p**ing your pants when the car didn't start,I know I would have been. It's bad enough when the car gets a scratch on it,and the inquisition starts as to how it got there. Where did you park the car,did you hit a post in the car park, did you let the shopping trolley hit the car. So now I check it before I get in it,and ask him where they have come from, before he goes at me. Hi ya Huia, hows you. How did Sunday go for you in the end. Did your son visit you in the end. Sallie,I had a postcard from my son this morning. They are in St Andrews at the moment, but intend to go to Blackpool,on Friday for a couple off days. I have suggested that they only book in for two days,as nothing is open up there at the moment, apart from if they go to the pleasure beach. And they both enjoy the rides,so no doubt will enjoy themselves anyway. He tells me that their fingers have not defrosted since they have been in Scotland. But it wont be any warmer for them in Blackpool either. When they get back they have both got to start searching for another job. If it were me,in their position,I would not have gone away, I would have saved the money for somewhere to live. But there you go,thats when age comes into it doesn't it. See you all later. Hi everyone
The weather has been lovely here ................. sunny and warm during the day although the nights have been colder, down to around 1 or 2C. So snuggle under the duvet!
Huia .... that's a lovely picture of you and Phil.
Not much is happening otherwise .... we're just motoring along, getting some things ready to take with us to NS when we go on April 8. Vancovuer is a much bigger city than Halifax, and daughter suually finds some things that she wants us to buy from Ikea (which they don't have), or from some other store!
MJ is doing well ..... he goes for his 2 week check up today. He had a checkp last Tuesday at 1 week because if the jaundice. J&M took him on his first outing on Sunday ........... a picnic at one of my favourite places (and theirs!). It's a small village called Mahone Bay, about an hour outside Halifax. A beautiful little place, with some wonderful artisan shops!
Take care everyone

Hi Sylvia. Not long now till you see young Matthew. Have they sent you some photo's off him,for you to cherish. The first baby pics are so precious,as they grow so quickly, and lose their new born look after a few days. Our weather over here has not been to bad,it is supposed to be up to about 12c, tommorrow. But like you,it gets colder off a night time. I hope you are both well. Take care, lots off love Mo xxx

Mo
yes, we got several new photos yesterday
Jean .............. it is a beautiful little place, on a alrge bay that leads out to the Atlantic Ocean. It's sometimes known as the village of churches ................ there are 3 in a row that you can see from the car park across the bay from the village, then several others tucked away.
Yes the houses are all wood ...... that's the common building material in much of Canada.
You can find my house on google earth .... I'll send you a pm to tell you, rather do than put it out in the open on here!!

you might also enjoy looking at Lunenburg, Nova Scotia ......... that's a World Heritage site because of all the old houses.
You could also look on this side, and trace the road north from Vancouver up to Whistler ........... and see where the Olympics have just been held!!

Hi all, had a lazy day yesterday, things quiet here, but I must go out today and do some errands in the city and pick up mail from my house. Thought I would just check in on here - sorry I don't do more with messages but can't keep up with everyone lol
Jean, hope you have caught up with the holiday laundry.
I watched the chap riding a bike round from Alaska and through American, Mark Beaumont his name is and I saw him on a previous programme where he travelled alone in a canoe and documented his travels. He is a glutton for adventure but it's so interesting to watch the places he goes and the people he meets. He got as far as Arizona on last night's programme I think, am looking forward to the next episode, there are three in all on bbc1 after the news at ten.
Made me think of all our Canadian friends on the boards and oh how lovely the scenery was.
take care all

Afternoon everyone. I can't remember if I told you,or not. But a couple off weeks ago,my eldest son,was out with my daughter inlaw, when a youngster came running through an alley, chased by a gang off teenagers. The gang proceeded to beat and kick the lad. My son and DIL ,went running after them, and chased the gang away. They took the boy home to his house, and went home. In todays free local paper, the police were seeking out the people who came to the aid off the boy. So my son has phoned them, and they are going round to talk to them this evening. But as my son has said,it was dark, and they would not be able to recognise the gang if they were to come face to face with them. My son hopes that someone would do the same for my grandson,if he ever got in the same situation. If you think about it,would you risk putting yourself in danger,by coming to the aid off another. I am not sure if I could do so.

Hi everyone
Mo ... your son was very brave!
It's another sunny day here ....... and is going to get to 15/16C this afternoon.
Forgot to say that our clocks went forward on March13/14 ...... so we've been only 7 hours behind the Uk for the last few days, and will be until your clocks go forward. It's actually been driving me crazy because most of my sites show dates of posting in UK time, and I've got pretty good at automatically converting to my time, but 7 hours is a bit different!!
It's my daughter's 36th birthday today so we phoned her before OH left to go out to the uni. She was well, having a bit of "me" time while MJ was sleeping ......... it was about 12:30 pm her time when we phoned. She did say that MJ had a check up yesterday, and is now 8 lbs 3½ oz ........ up from his birth weight of 7 lbs 6 oz. She's been saying he's a hearty feeder! She also said that Gripe Water has been used with great effect ........ but this is the non-alcoholic version of mainly herbs. I know I was horrified when I found out how much alcohol was in the Woodwards Gripe Water that we used for her in the 70s!!
Take care everyone

Hi Sylvia. I believe our clocks change again this weekend, not absolutely sure though. They go forward one hour. I honestly hate it when they do this,as I always find it hard to adjust. My stomach clock goes hay-wire,and I am either really hungry,or not bothered about eating at all. My word young Matthew is doing really well, weightwise. I know what you mean about the gripe water. It was only when I started working in a pharmacy, that I found out what ingredients went into a lot of baby products, that we used our children when our children were young. There is a lot off sugar put into childrens medicines,as well. Oh no the phone is ringing.

Morning All, sorry I haven't been here for a few days, but you all seem to have managed perfectly well without me. But I'm back. LOL.
Hope you are all well. Sylivia, I can't believe how much weight MJ has gained - something good in the milk I reckon. My 4 all had Gripewater but it was non alcoholic, as they were all "modern" babies. I think it was used in previous years to help children to sleep just as much as it was for wind and colic. Didn't do me any harm, I haven't become a dependant alcoholic or anything like that, but I know my Mum used it for all 4 of us when we were babies.
Jean, I'm so glad you enjoyed your break. You were lucky with the weather, but very often a change of scenery is all you need to make things look and seem more cheerful.
Mo, fancy losing at darts. Can't remember if that was your last match or if next Monday is. Good luck if you are still to play.
I've got an awful cold at the moment, haven't had one all winter and now I get struck down just as the weather starts to improve. The children love it as I haven't been able to talk for 2 days - they've been getting away with all sorts!!!!
I've also had a problem with a tooth - apparently it is an "age thing". A chunk came off it the other day, so I went to the dentist and she packed it for me, then an abcess developed on the gum and I am now on Anti Biotics & Penicillen for the infection. Whoever it was had Dental charges the other day that were monsterous, you may like to know that my initial appointment cost me £28.00 and then no charge for the follow up. No Social Security or other benefits for dental work over here, just a very honest dentist who doesn't rip people off.
Had the same service today from my garage. I have an ongoing problem with my car and was charged a couple of weeks ago for work on it. They have had my car now since Monday afternoon and I've just picked it up - guess what - No Charge at all. Not even for the labour. The garage are so baffled at the lights & sensors that keep telling me things are wrong that they have said they will not charge me a penny whilst they try and sort things out. I have to drive it all weekend and then ring back next week for an up date. If nothing goes wrong, then Happy Days, and I am not required to pay anything at all.
The joy of being able to deal with small family run businesses. We have a very similar policy as my husband works for himself, and is more than happy to have a cup of tea with a customer and a bunch of flowers or a pot of home made jam, than charge a pensioner £25.00 for the priviledge of fixing a dripping tap. We are controlled by minimum Federation Rates for work, so have to charge a minimum amount fror each job. Pots of Jam and a cuppa go un-noticed and as long as we have enough to live on, those sort of customers always come back.
Gosh haven't I rambled, and I haven't even told you about Daniels Cross Country at the weekend or his football match last night - leave those for another posting. Off to get lunch now. Take care everyone.

My oh my girls. Just listen to our Jean. Methinks she's trying to get rid off my friends, suggesting using that awful embrocation she has sent me. Silly girl Jean, that was the horses linament,or is she silly me wonders.Ho Hum,Mo's got a stinky b.........chest. No hairs will grow there again thats for sure. lol Taint my fault that poor Debbie got that stinking cold. I didn't blow her a kiss,so she didn't catch it from moi. Hi Debbie. We were thrashed at darts,so no excuses will be coming from me. We start our knockouts on the 12th off April. I am not really looking forwards to them though. To many trophy hunters out there. I just go to enjoy myself I believe it was Sylvia in Canada's husband, who had the large fee for his teeth. When I had my check up,it cost me £16.50 including a clean and polish. I hope that the car doesn't play up,and that the garage do not decide to charge you. Listening to the way that business is transacted over there,I think I will have to move over your way. It reminds me off the way that things used to run here, many years ago. Doctors were paid with many strange things, like as you say jars off jam to anything up to a pig for an operation. Cant wait to hear how Daniel got on last weekend. Do you think Sallie has moved already, and not told us. lol She's not been on here for a few days now. I hope all is well at your end Sallie. HUGS for Marie,Liz,Huia,Ann and all our friends on this thread. Love to you all. Mo xxx
