I have never read the thread in question, but if, as Kim says, some of the comments were 'near the knuckle' then that must be the reason someone or several members complained? One man's Fun on here is another man (or woman's) Smut. It happens all the time. BC¬XX

I really despair if underhand sniping is what GR is coming to.
If someone has a problem with a thread, there's a couple of things to do: ignore it and go read something else or come forward and state your case about what exactly you object to.
That thread had been going a while now and not one complaint before. Now all of a sudden there's a flurry of them?! What it looks like here is someone having a personal go - and roping in a few weak-willed-no-minds-of-their-own-mates to back him/her up. Bet some of them hadn't even seen the thread.

Again,thank-you everyone,I hope GR reads this thread & I hope whoever it was who complained is starting to realize how unbelievably shallow their actions were & how cowardly they are for not coming forward.It basically means anyone can get any Thread deleted "because" they want to.

Why don't you mail GR and ask them if you can put another thread up in the same vein ?

You could also ask them what the complaints were about so you can ask in your first post that people dont make the same "mistakes" again :o))

What I cannot understand is, if it was a long, long thread, then people knew either to read / join in / ignore as appropriate. So why, all of a sudden, does it get picked on?

Never read or added to this thread, but as others have said, we all have our different views on things ... there are those who are not content with ignoring threads/people they do not agree with & have to hit the RR button.

There is a logic in your response Robin, but, even so, the people responsible for getting the thread deleted are just plain spiteful. To pick on an ongoing long thread what else can they be?

This board used to be such a laugh - now it seems that's not allowed any more!

It is bad enough when something is deleted by the instability of the site / glitch, whatever you want to call it - ie Shimms' and Mick's threads, my caring about people and treading in their footsteps ones, and ones by Jean and Daff - I shall say no more other than I agree with you, Mrs Grumpy Jill.

I am putting together a response because it appears you cannot mention.Kids,Cats,Dogs,Camping,Cookery etc,etc,etc.

GR said they had received several complaints. To me that could easily mean more than one complaint from the same person over a period of time who finally struck lucky., not a bunch of delete crazed revenge driven people who are supposedly 'Controlled' .
