I only snippet of gossip was that my grandmother's sister was caught in bed with my grandmothers fiance and married him !! Could that be his father ??

Now that is posh real POSH..and they lived in a village that had the biggest cottage in Dorset...Land owners and cattle owners of the market in the village ......... ....LOL

I’ve been looking for posh rellies so I could have a posh cup.

The best I can come up with is an ancestor who owned a shipyard in Gillingham from 1756. He was born in Loose in Kent in 1701 (son of the Parish Clerk) and died in 1761 in Gillingham. He worked in Ramsgate and Broadstairs and owned properties all over Kent. His son inherited the shipyard and built ships for the Royal Navy. His grandsons both became High Constable of Gillingham during the 1830s

Is the owner of a shipyard (and other properties) posh enough for me to have a posh cup?

If not – I’ll have to go off and sulk!!
